YES THIS PLACE!!!!! FOOD IS GREAT!! Hello again!!!! I'm back with another lip smacking, food place for you. This time it's in Akron OH.... I wanted some Soul Food and I found this and it was not too far from where I was headed. Being from the South we know soul food, especially in Texas! When I pulled up there was only one car in the parking lot. I walked to the door and the sign read, "If doors are locked come to drive thru".. I understood that completely because it gets dark real early up here. When I got to the window I wondering what to expect.... You know how you go to certain places and the person at the window working has an attitude? NOT THIS PLACE!! A very nice lady came and greeted me with a smile. I told her it was my first time and she gave me a menu and started to explain what they had. Check my history and you will know I got the Fried Chicken Wings. I also got Collard greens and pinto beans and and extras side of potato salad. You ever been to a Soul Food Restaurant and the veggies are Luke warm or just don't taste good? NOT THIS PLACE!!!!! All of the veggies were fresh and they were good. Some places you go to, you have to be careful of their potato salad... NOT THIS PLACE!! The potato salad was on point. I am not making this up! It was good. Now to the main course. The Fried Wings... OMG!!!! In some places wings are over seasoned or over battered and cooked hard or greasy!!!!! (hello Cracker Barrel) NOT THIS PLACE!!!!! Listen to me real good! Every wing that I ate was cooked to perfection, I am so serious right now. These wings were not heavenly battered, they were not overly seasoned, they were hot and fresh right out of the fryer!!!! Now don't expect to order your food at the window and it be ready in 2-3 minutes... these wings were cooked to order. But!! The wait was not long and there were two other cars they helped as well. I'm guessing I was there less than 10 mins. I wasn't really paying attention. Lastly, you know how most Soul Food places will charge you an arm and a leg for 5 wings, 3 veggies, and a small kool-aid... it would be expensive.... NOT THIS PLACE!!!!! I got all of this food for under $16.00... I left a tip and to be honest the tip should have been double! I'm serious everyone around Akron or passing through, this is one place that could be something special in the community!!! I am not from here but to receive service with a smile and have good food is something to be said!!! So if you are looking for a place that has average food, unfriendly service, with a high price tag!!!! Say it loud!!! NOT THIS PLACE!!!! Go enjoy the food, it's really good! I was there for Allstar Weekend , was looking for a soul food RESTURANT , went on Yelp and found this place , made a call to hee if you could eat in , there were 5. Of us , spoke to a very nice lady name Mrs. Harvey. , and she accommodated us and said come on in and when we arrive we looked around and say hi this is not what we were expecting but then when we went inside and ordered the food it was like five stars hats off to this restaurant fast food I ended up coming back two more days in a row great food great food great food will come back again when we return to Cleveland

I'm not from Ohio but this place has great food. Everything was seasoned so good the only issue I had was that my chitterlings were not clean. There is no place like home though but everything else was so good

Excellent food - Dirty Rice was perfectly seasoned, Pulled pork had the perfect texture, the banana pudding was spectacular. Ever aspect of my meal was perfect!

My second time getting food here and it was delish each time. But this time I decided to order the peach cobbler… OMG AMAZING this place is now on the top of the list of best soul food I ever had!

Extremely disappointed, had high hopes but will not order again, overpriced for the quality and portions. Small portion on extremely thin pieces of fish for the dinner, fries were barely cooked - not even the slightest browned. I can only assume it was the mac and cheese which gave me food poisoning as my husband had the coleslaw instead, illness started within 2 hours of eating and I'm still sick after 2 days. They should be ashamed on what was offered as "banana pudding". We received 2 pint carryout containers filled to the brim with vanilla wafers - a full pint each of wafers !!!!!, the pudding was a mere drizzle to bind the wafers together into a sticky mess - absolutely no layer of pudding, and only 5-6 small bits of banana, that was it, absolutely disgusting.

The lady who ran my card seemed slow & then she couldn't get my card 2 work.Thank God I had cash on.me cause I neva carry itBut the food tasted good just had 2 use the bathroom right after
I ordered two rib dinners and wrongly assumed that some type of bread would be included as in the past. Very disappointed to discover that wasn't the case. Would have been nice if the ordertaker could have offered cornbread at an additional cost. Then you would have an option. Dinners ALWAYS come with some type of bread, even if it's Wonder Bread. You were out of sweet potato pie, but the peach cobbler was excellent.
