Not at all what it used to be. Certainly less stellar in the winter than summer. But based on this experience, I'm not sure I'd return at any time.Are you a cool, trendy, low-key neighborhood bar, or are you a dance club? Having a DJ blaring dance music in an empty bar when your demographic is 50+ and you have no dance floor is ridiculous. We could not even hear each other talk or the bartender hear us.Plus, the seating, just limited to begin with, did not even work under the tables. By the time you sat on the chair, there was not enough room to get your legs under the table.Finally, the food was overpriced and not very flavorful. The drinks were the only positive point of the evening, but all in all, this place is way pricey for what they're delivering, and they need to figure out what that is... what the bar's identity is!Parking: In the strip in the middle of the road.

We recently went to see one of our favorite musicians play there recently. It was advertised on their Facebook page that day.
When we arrived we were told that although he was playing,it was a private event, closed to the public.
When we asked why was it advertised, the bartender just shrugged and ignored us.
We had a party of 7 who had driven from the west side of Cleveland; it’s about a two hour round trip.
A total waste of time. We would have spent $$$ on dinner and drinks. Never again, that’s really poor customer service.

I’m a former long time patron of the Old 97. It used to be a really unique understated classy place. Some friends and I recently went for drinks and appetizers are were kind of shocked that there’s now a jukebox playing loud bro country and the place was kind of dirty and smelled like marijuana. The bartender was nice but not very well informed about certain cocktails. I know things change but it was really nothing like its former self. I’ve since learned that there are new owners so that might explain why it’s gone downhill. Sorry but can’t recommend now.
