We visited yesterday during our visit to sauders village. Service was good and the buffet was fresh and stoked well. My big complaint was the pricing. I do not agree that a 11 year old should be charged a full adult price.

We stopped in on the Saturday before Mothers Day and had the buffet and the food was awesome and always full. We enjoyed it and only waited 10 min to get seated for 6.

I appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and helpful, but seemed to be inexperienced. Both the large table next to ours and our group got up to get bread plates for the table since none had been offered for the rolls. There was no butter at our table of 10 (it was brought upon request). The server brought decaf coffee, but didn't bring the regular coffee for another 10 minutes--and then didn't bring enough cups. I got up and brought extra coffee cups for the table. She didn't offer to pour coffee for the table in spite of having several 80 to 90 year old folks at the table. She did bring more coffee on request, but did not come by with more water until we were just about ready to leave. She was unable to answer my questions about the menu. I think she will make a good server with more training. I ordered the roast beef. Rather than getting nice slices, I got a plate of shredded beef with too much gravy poured on. The mashed potatoes seemed to be instant rather than homemade as they were very thin. The taste of the beef was fine--but the consistency and presentation was not good. I wish I had gotten the buffet as the fried chicken that other diners were eating looked quite good. The dinner rolls seemed to be store bought rather than homemade--they didn't have much taste. Overall, considering the 60 mile drive from Michigan, I was disappointed with the food and service, but very impressed by the atmosphere and the kindness of all the staff I interacted with. As a former restaurant and nightclub manager I do recommend that the servers be fully trained: use of bread plates, the proper use of silverware (I got a teaspoon rather than soup spoon for my soup), organization skills, checking with diners on how they are enjoying their meal, when to do refills, and of course familiarizing them with the menu items so they can answer basic questions about how the food is prepared. Addendum: The owner responded with a very gracious note of appreciation for the feedback. I am looking forward to trying this restaurant once again with our group in 2025.

I was not a fan of buffets, until NOW! The food was fresh, hot, and homemade. The chicken was juicy and moist, and the homemade broccoli soup I enjoyed a second cup of. If you are near this restaurant, it’s a must stop! Friendly staff, with HOMEMADE food that is favorable and scrumptious. I was sold from the scents when I walked into the establishment.

The food smelled good as soon as I walked in. Service was prompt and we were quickly seated.I got the buffet which had roast beef, turkey and fried chicken a lot of sides in that catagory I did not try. I did try all the meats and the stuffing tho.The roast was moist and tender, the chicken was fresh and crispy and not over dried but I think it could use a bit more flavor. The turkey in the gravy however was seasoned so good I wish I had got to only that. The onion pedals were pretty good a very unique sauce for them. And I was happy to see some greens in the salad. I was slightly bjmmed there was no onion for my salad. But a great experience and I will definitely be back.
