We stopped into Hang Over East for breakfast and we were not disappointed! My boyfriend got the Frog Eyes and I got the Between the Sheets. Both were amazing! We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Athens!

Got chicken and waffles and the chicken was all breading and waffles completely cold. Not a bad place to eat in but never order pick up from there. Complete waste of 14 dollars.

Great spot for breakfast and lunch. Like coming here when visiting the OU campus. Traditional diner with some modern/interesting takes on classic dishes. Had the Buffalo Blue fried chicken sandwich and my wife and son ordered the Baconator burgers. Service was prompt and the food came out quickly. Highly recommend this place and most times there is wait - but absolutely worth it!!

Good spot for diner food. We had lunch but saw a lot of people enjoying the breakfast options.Kid-friendliness: Lots of college kids getting over their hangovers, so they may have conversations not appropriate for younger kids.

Great food, but customer service is terrible and overrated. Waitresses need lesson on how to treat customers. Rude and entitled, and lazy. No sense of urgency…but the staff is quick to tell you what they can’t do for you!

It was good, nothing to write home about but we visited on New Year’s Day around 9 am and our food came fairly quickly and the service was alright. I’m not in Athens often but I would stop in again for

Best service in Athens, Ohio. My order tasted great, everything was as expected but better. Cooks did a great job getting my order out fast. Restaurant was super clean. The manager Matt was professional and welcoming. I will be back and would recommend this establishment to my friends.

This is a cozy little diner just a couple of blocks away from the main Ohio Athens Campus.I came for lunch on Monday around 1:30pm and was able to be seated right away... Considering this was finals week, I was not too surprised ?.The Diner is clean, atmosphere is what you expect for a small diner, I was surprised to find they had gone out of their way to make sure there was plenty of nostalgic diner references in their seating, decor and offerings of milkshakes and hamburgers? They also had breakfast items...What did surprise me was the alcoholic drinks but that just gave the diner the college ambiance it needed since it IS located within walking distance of other bars and the university Dorms....can't knock them for updating the diners offerings....Really Enjoyed the Fries (served hot) and the Rueben...I have to say it was one if the best Ruebens I've eaten in a long time...just enough tang in the saurkraut (probably spelled wrong;p) and just enough cornedbeef and sauce, the rye bread was crisped nicely too.

Very good breakfast! Get there early. We got the last 2 seats at the bar and then a huge wait formed.

The food here was okay, but definitely not good enough to fix the terrible service we received this morning. Me and my husband were stopping through on our way back home to SC and wanted to get breakfast with our friends from Athens. This was everyone’s first time trying this restaurant and from the moment we walked in the door the man working had a terrible attitude. A few of our friends were walking from their car and he told us to go wait outside in the cold until they got there. Then, when all of us were there he proceeded to rudely tell us they don’t accept parties larger than 6 (we had 8, but there was hardly anyone there on a monday morning) and said next time we’ll have to sit separately. There was another table seated that was waiting on the rest of their party but he didn’t make them wait in the cold. He talked to us rudely the entire time, didn’t pay hardly any attention to us when we needed something. After we were done paying we were trying to say our goodbyes to each other and he told us all to “stop blocking the doorway” and said we needed to go outside. Again, there was hardly anyone there, maybe I could understand if it was busy, regardless there was no reason to have such a bad attitude, we were simply eating breakfast. I can definitely say we will be taking our business elsewhere next time we’re in town.

Great atmosphere, but the food is SUPER over priced. Very small $7 drink and $10 "loaded" fries. Idk what they are loaded with, butter and maybe a table spoon of unmelted shredded cheese. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

Great place for breakfast anytime of day. Food was well cooked, best turkey sausage I've ever had, and staff was attentive and cheerful. Highly recommend.
