Everything about this place is amazing! Their apple walnut salad is the best salad I’ve ever had in my life. They don’t skimp on the toppings and everything is so fresh. Their banana pudding is the best I’ve ever had and same with the Mac and cheese! I can’t wait to try everything on their menu and you should try it too!

The salads, chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and all of the sides taste great and they're healthier than most other places who serve fried chicken. You may need to add more salt to the sides depending on your taste but for my family, we don't mind bc it's healthier without the MSG and dump truck full of salt. This is in our top five take-out places in Athens. The food is more kosher than most places and it tastes good. The workers are also nice and on time with meal preparation.

I'm not sure what blew me away the last time my family and I stopped here for a meal but this past time it was quite bland. The collard greens were overly salty and lacking any real flavor. The mac / cheese was gelatinous. The cornbread was a borderline cupcake. My chicken was tasty but was nothing special. Overall I was disappointed. It wasn't like the last time I had their food, which was a few years ago. Also they forgot my in-laws sandwiches but comped them for it.

Quality has seemingly gone way down hill. None of my sides were good - the sweet potatoes were very wet w/ no seasoning and the corn tasted almost sour?? Like maybe it was old or had been setting out They were out of items. The salad I had was ok & the dressing was pretty good. It also got packed oddly so the sweet potatoes leaked on everything and no napkins were included.

The food smells nice and the service is kind, but get comfortable while you are waiting...it will be a while even if you are the only one in the line. The menu offers quite a few selections, which all seem tasty. I ordered the bacon mac sandwich and my partner ordered the southern sandwich. He quite liked his, but my chicken was dry and didn't taste very fresh. I could be totally wrong about the freshness and it is important to note that this was during the covid-19 pandemic. I understand the resources are limited and restaurants are hurting now more than ever, which is why I would give this place a second chance. I see great potential in their menu, but today the execution was off.

I want to start out by saying the food that we did get was decent. but at first we called to place a takeout order and were left just sitting on the counter listening to them fill orders and bang around for several minutes. so we decided to just hang up to go to the location, and when we got there we were severely disappointed. this was not the employee's fault, he was not given the tools he needed. they were out of mac and cheese and banana pudding, which were basically the reason we went. there was chicken grease all over the floor, the food line was messy, and the service was backed up. the owner popped his head out for a moment to check on the employee and then went back to what sounded like watching tv in the back. this is so different than the experience i had when it was on court st, i was very disappointed.

Tried for the first time today. Salad was good also ordered a sweet heat sandwich with mac and cheese and coleslaw. The mac and cheese was dry and one clump. Not edible. If it had been fresh it may have been good. Too pricey to get leftovers.

Thoroughly delectable!! Unique sandwich choices, excellent side dishes, and the desserts are divine. I especially recommend the Pecan Pie Bread Pudding!! I will be returning every time I visit Athens!! The name of the restaurant is absolutely apropos!

Food was bland. Employees seemed flustered even though I was the only customer. Also location was quite dirty and in disarray.

I ordered half a chicken, collard greens , macaroni and cheese, and banana pudding. It was about $30 via Doordash. The only reason this gets 2 stars is because the macaroni and cheese was excellent. Everything else ranged from bland to nasty. I had never before tasted sweet collard greens, yet those were. There was no seasoning except maybe some kind of vinegar-based something...maybe ACV? The banana pudding was very dense and thick. I would only recommend the mac&cheese from this establishment.

I used to love their food, but for the couple of times I have visited over the year, their food just tasted bland. The chicken is flavorless, rice is too wet, cornbread is dry and does not taste nice, and all other sides are hit or miss. The store used to be such a picturesque place, but now it’s just filthy and sad. I Love supporting local places in Athens, but this one just makes me sad. I hope they shape up, improve the quality of their food, and clean up the place!

The chicken was fair. The pieces were small. Everything to eat was average. The restaurant was not clean and it appeared that it's not a thrivi g business. I probley would not go back.

Absolutely loved the food here! So tender and juicy, their chicken was top notch. The people were friendly and made sure we were set.
