Rude slow impersonal staff. We waited 22 minutes for someone to even acknoloedge us. I would steer clear of this place

AURORA's PLACE for FOODIES!James Place has always been our Friday date night spot because of the friendly atmosphere with comfort food, libations and regulars. With the new year, the tables are set with linen and white china-the perfect background for Chef Ian's rotating and creative cuisine. An eclectic shuffling of melodies flow through the cozy space. My most recent experience was a delight. The strip steak was seasoned and grilled to perfection accompanied by potatoes lyonnaise and steamed broccoli. Not only delicious but a beautiful presentation emphasized by Brandon's twirl of the plate. Dessert of poached baby Bosc pear in Beaujolais sauce ended dinner on a high note. And what's not to love about sipping a Caymus Cabernet by the glass?Bravo to the James Gang for their continuous efforts toward excellence in food, service and atmosphere :) Reservations highly recommended!

Atmospheric restaurant with a touch of French American food style. Country style on the outside, French bistro on the inside.

We went to James Place for dinner with 2 other couples last night, and it was beyond amazing. It has always been one of our favorite spots in Aurora, but it has certainly been elevated after last night. Our group enjoyed excellent cocktails that accompanied our appetizers of escargot, elk tartare, baked brie, and a baguette with dipping sauce. The starters were so delicious and wonderful. The elk tartare was delicate but flavorful, and the escargot was pan prepared and outside of the shell. Simply divine. Next, we enjoyed mussels and frites, salmon, and the tuna special for the night. Our plates left the table without a morsel, crumb, or spot of sauce to be found. Simply an amazing experience. Also, the smallness of the restaurant and the care to buffer sound provided a quiet evening where conversations could be had without raising your voice or shouting across the table.

Kind of amazed that we live one city over and never heard of this place. Took the family for a special night out and pleasantly surprised. Private space and excellent service complimented really outstanding food and drinks. I don't go out of my way to provide positive reviews very often but love to support locally owned establishments that have something unique to provide. Only suggestion is to update the menu on the website. Bon Appetite!

James Place is my most favorite dinner spot in NE OHIO.Small in size big HUGE with service, food quality and ever rotating menu. Durning spring and summer they have one of the best patios-outdoor dining experiences in the area. You will not be disappointed with your drive to Aurora and your visit to James Place!!!***Most nights Jim the owner is here to greet and seat your at your table!!
