I've been a number of times, most recently for restaurant week. Most of the food was pretty good, but the risotto was way over salted and the potatoes were dramatically under seasoned. But my big complaint was that they charge you a credit card fee. What is this, Ticketmaster? And it shows up even when you pay with a debit card. Overall, this is pretty tacky for any restaurant.

Food tasted good.Prices are too expensive for the whole experience of the restaurant.Party of 9 for my birthday. Wish we went elsewhere. 1 child and 8 adults. No ambiance in party room - no photos nothing on the table to look at just plain. My dad brought a small vase of flowers and the whole room suddenly came to life. Nice waitress but seemed out of touch with restaurant norms - like how she took some of our appetizer plates and gave them to other people without asking us if we were using them (and we were), did not say happy birthday to the birthday person when we were wrapping up and kind of disappeared so we had to ask another server for help.Odd details about not being able to split bills of parties greater than 8 people, not mentioning the merchant service fee tacked on for credit use prior to paying, not giving any receipt back if you pay with cash. Also the fact that 20% is added for gratuity instead of 18% with the option to add more didn’t seem right for the level of cost associated with the food and the level of service provided.

While we had a good meal I felt like the prices were a little steep. The vegetarian options are fairly limited. The menu that we found on Google showed some vegetarian items that they no longer have so I felt a bit misled. The service was good. Given the selection and prices we probably will not return.

Stopped here for brunch. The avocado toast was amazing. I didn't like the credit card surcharge that was automatically applied. Gratuity added for five or more people.

The brown dog cafe was a great place to eat. I was one of the first people there in the evening. The staff was great and very friendly. I got the Diablo burger and it was the right amount of spice. I was also given an extra about of fries $2 but it was well worth it. I hope to go back before I leave.

I was there with a party of 5 for my birthday. Every dish ordered left something to be desired from rbr entire group. Extremely disappointed. Ceasar salad was bland, grill mix (never asked by server how would like meat cooked and between the two orders the cooks were wildly different. Fat on duck was not rendered at all, beef (one overdone the other was rare), the crab cake was mushy and not at all impressive, shrimp and pasta was very heavy on the pasta with barely enough shrimp to qualify it in the title as a shrimp dish, and he diver scallops were entirely over seared... The risotto was, well, horrible. The menu seemed as if it would be amazing, but again, not a single dish was worth the effort and the pricing was entirely overpriced for the quality we received. As a matter of fact, I was going to bring my sick husband home a dinner and opted to order from elsewhere to pick up on the way home.I'll that my mother was one of the guests, she is a Celiac and it's critical she eat a gluten-free diet. She ordered based on your menu and waitstaff recommendations. She's been sick since the visit having had a reaction to something she ate at the restaurant. This tells us your establishment is not diligent in offering GF options and not safe for those with an allergy to visit. Not a place I would ever recommend nor is it a place I see us revisiting.Dietary restrictions: Lots of GF options, but not convinced diligent enough for a Celiac

We enjoyed the delicious food at The Brown Dog Cafe. The service was good although our waitress was not especially friendly or smiley even when we tried to be very friendly and appreciative. We would go back again for the food. The atmosphere was lovely.Parking: The parking was easy once I found The Brown Dog Cafe. It s not well marked from the street.

My friends (all people of color) went in there earlier today and had a horrible experience with Max. They went in and wanted to order, and were immediately warned that they had to spend at least 12 dollars. After they all offered to buy food and drinks, they were kicked out. They were all extremely respectful and gave him no reason to kick them out. He claimed that they were just “stalling to keep warm”. 1) The restaurant was not busy, and 2) they were willing to pay for food? Not sure if this 12 dollar rule was just established, but me and my 4 other white friends went in last month. Only 2 of us ordered food, the rest ordered drinks or nothing at all. Same guy was there and was much nicer to us than he was to my friends.Don’t spend your money at this racist establishment.

I dont know how the food is here, but I know that the service we got was terrible. At first, I was with a few friends sledding around the Summit Park area and of course we had snow on us. We saw the Brown Dog Cafe nearby so we wanted to stop by to warm up and get hot teas and eat something warm. We stopped by, shook off the snow we had on us, and the oldest walked in to clarify something while he called someone. A few minutes later he was told to leave because of the ice on our clothes, which is reasonable so we went to clean up the snow in the restroom outside. After this, we walked back in and the man at the counter was very passive aggressive to us. He stated that to dine in you need spend a minimum of $12, we said that it was okay and asked for a menu to look at first. We then asked if we could stay inside to take a look at the menu. The man then said that he didn't want to do any business with us or serve us. We didn't mind that much because if we are asked to leave we kind of have to leave. But we were outraged when we asked for a reason to him kicking us out but all he kept saying was that he didn't want to do business with us. Us all being people of color, we felt as if this was an act of racism. Dont go here go next door to Tahona.
