First off, when you are in a service job, particularly in food service, you pay attention to your customers and refrain from chit chattin and gossiping with coworkers. The work ethic of Chester’s Chicken in Mebane NC is worse than I’ve ever seen anywhere. This location was in a Loves Truck Stop. It was quite clear that off duty or on break employees used this facility as their party central to have fun and frolic! They took up half of the available tables which was already limited due to social distancing. And these issues being bad enough, doesn’t include the quality and availability of the product they were selling. This by far is some quite unappealing fried chicken. The chicken was barely if at all seasoned. The fried potato wedges were limp, again lacking seasoning and were anything but crispy. The person whom took and filled my order was busy gossiping with a coworker, never made eye contact with me and was well self absorbed as opposed to being attentive to myself and other customers. He failed to acknowledge our presence, no smile, clearly no (thank you) for stopping in and was well more paying attention to the exploits of his fellow employees goings on and general gleefully carrying on. In other words, he had no sense of why he was even there! Evidently, management pays no attention to what is going on in this establishment. I wouldn’t stop in here for a meal ever again. Of staff is be so lacking in creating and serving a customer, I wonder what failures other than the obvious I’ve already mentioned, are they lacking in preparing the food and general good kitchen hygiene practices. This place, in my personal opinion is absolutely terrible!
