Long over due review of my favorite local restaurant. Compare service and food quality around the city and you’ll be back!Kid-friendliness: They even have a magician once a week that is awesome with the kids. Carla really knows how to run a restaurant!!!

I was under the assumption that the days of prompt service, excellent food, and just the right atmosphere were gone from the restaurant community. Kitchen 1883 has proven me wrong. Most of my dining experiences are subpar due to the lack of attentiveness by the staff in all areas. I am so appreciative to the staff here at Kitchen 1883! You have out done yourselves!

We like everything's about 1883. Great family atmosphere and outside seating in the summer. Occasionally they have entertainment and a magician that make the rounds. Nice menu and food is great. Mixed drinks are awesome. Enjoy or give them a shot. You won't be disappointed.

Let’s start here, I usually love this place. Been here about a dozen times. Coming today on a Friday during lent was an unfortunate decision.A $19 fish dish had 3 oz’s of fried seasoned fish, a cup of fries with their own sauce, and a fried lemon quarter. That’s it. Don’t get this dish: “beer battered fish, pan seared.”They were not understaffed as I saw many people working in the kitchen, and the orders were slow to those in the restaurant. Seems they give preference to take out, lesson learned.I’m nervous to come back.

See photo of the size of my $14 Asian salad with no protein. At best a side salad but definitely a rip off at $14.

My partner & I have visited twice, and absolutely adore this place!! So far we've had the pan-seared miso glazed salmon, shrimp & grits, and the beer battered cod. All have been soooo delicious!! The pan-seared salmon and shrimp & grits are my favorites so far. Very hearty & flavor PACKED dishes that leave you feeling satisfied afterwards. The grits are southern style, and comfort filled, w/juicy perfectly cooked & seasoned shrimp, veg & sausage are fantastic aswell! The pan-seared salmon is a whole array of aromatic flavors pulled together by every piece, from the coconut rice bed, to fresh herb ontop. Just amazing! The seasonal flatbread we tried tonight was phenomenal too.The staff is always so friendly, and always checking in throughout your visit. Even the owners come around, and are very friendly. The prices are reasonable to me for the quality of service & food you're getting. I could easily go to a different, more sub-par, chain diner & spend the same or more. Our visit this time was $70 before tips w/an app, two entrees, and dessert. The portions may be a teeny bit smaller than others, but the quality & freshness outmatches so many others. Still stuffed & happy every time, with some leftovers!Love the vibes & delicious meals given by this place. Cannot recommend enough.

We have eaten here several time. The first two times was perfect. The last time the server had a bit of an attitude. Overall I would highly recommend and think our one experience was just an anomaly.

This place is amazing. They have the best fish and chips in the whole city of cincinnati. Their kale brussel sprouts salad is beyond your expectations. We love coming here, but apparently so does everyone else. Sometimes it's very difficult to get in and there could be a wait. But, it's worth it, Love this place.

Absolutely loved my experience at Kitchen 1883. The burger was cooked to perfection and seasoned wonderfully, the fries were crispy and delicious. Waitresses were frequent on checking in and even the management makes their way around to talk with the customers often. Highly recommend!

Can't say enough good things about this place. I've never had a bad meal here. I've never even had a meal here that was just ok. The food is always amazing, and the high level of service they offer is hard to find these days. We look forward to our next visit!
