If the only reason you come here is where the guacamole and avocado jalapeño margaritas, you will not be disappointed! The guacamole is the best I’ve ever had. It is topped with these charred vegetables that are incredibly flavorful. We also shared a variety of tacos and large plates. Enchiladas are saucy and delicious, and then we had Carne Asada which everyone loved as well.. I advise saving room for dessert because the night we were there they had flan - which I really enjoyed because it’s more cheesy than eggy (that might not be 100% accurate, but I really like the texture). Couple that with an el jefe cocktail and you’ve got yourself a winning combination!Vegetarian options: Guacamole- oh so devine! Sweet potato tacos!Dietary restrictions: Their entire menu is gluten-free

We ordered the classic margaritas, and they were very tart, not sweet enough as well as not having much alcohol in them at all. I also got a pork taco that was fatty and I only ate half of it. Otherwise we had a good experience, the service was terrific and the food was good.

One of the best meals I've had in town. I'm hesitant to single out any item because everything was so good... We shared guacamole as an appetizer and it was so good. the tostadas served with the guac were amazing. It has chunks of roasted vegetables, but instead of taking away from the guac, they work perfectly with the avocado/guacamole My dining partner had a single fish taco and the Mexican rice... I didn't get a chance to try her taco because it was gone quickly and she had no complaints. I ordered the shrimp and it may be the best shrimp dish I've ever had. the spices on the grilled(?) shrimp were perfect and they were cooked perfectly. It also had cauliflower, carrots and onions in addition to the side of butter rice and beans. I got the charro beans instead of the black beans that came with it. I could eat the rice and beans in a tortilla and be more than happy as a meal. Actually made a taco like that with some of the guac... it was spectacular. My companion got sick of me raving about the carrots. There were fewer carrots than anything else and I'd order a plate of those and be happy if they offered it. The tortillas were OK, not quite up to the level of the rest, but still good. That's more on everything else than the tortillas (and that I'm used to Tortilleria Garcia's tortillas)

Honestly the food and service was good. I generally have a great experience here. However, the kitchen insisted on boxing up my food and dropped it. waiter offered me desert in a fashion that would imply it was complimentary. I was still charged fully for the dish and the desert. should've been handled differently. From now on I will insist on boxing things myself.

la cantina holds a special place in our hearts. MY boyfriend and i fell inlove with this place so much we took our parents here to meet for the first time. The margs, the food, the atmosphere etc. all 10/10!

Food & staff were outstanding. My only concern was how bad we smelled like food. Our experience was exactly 1 hour and 10 mins. I was surprised how the smell of food penitraed our clothes & hair. We got complaints from our Uber driver and the poor lady that had to sit next to us at Music Hall. Other than that, we had a great experience.

Would love to see some new non-meat items. They've had the same sweet potato offering for at least the past two years and it would be great to be able to have some variety like my meat-loving friends have when dining there.

Fabulous service and delicious meals. Everyone enjoyed their dinners including chicken enchiladas, chicken with mole, and sweet potato vegetarian dish. The queso appetizer and flan for dessert were both over the top delicious. Drinks were pricey but unique and tasty. Overall great birthday celebration.

The ghost and guava margarita might be the best I've ever had - loved it! Grilled oysters were delish as well as the Baja fish taco. Underwhelmed by the rice and black beans, wish I would've subbed the churros beans - next time! Shrimp entree was good, but wasn't as exciting as the rest. Will definitely be back to try other menu items...and for that margarita!

Excellent service and dinner. The wedge salad was exceptional, the fundido out of this world and the tacos were filling with amazing flavor - our favorites were the brisket and pork tacos. The ghost pepper and jalapeño margarita and the pina colada margarita hit the spot. Definitely a must for anyone wanting authentic Mexican food.

Erika was able to seat the 4 of us inside tonight. It was a family celebration (birthday) and wonderful fun sharing a few new dishes. Kids in from Chicago commented on how fresh all the dishes tasted. We know this - the food and service is what keeps us coming back. We are regulars, living in the neighborhood. Concluded with ONE slice of the Chocolat Flan cake. I recommend saving room for this fabulous finish La Cantina is a great neighbor gem.

Friendly, efficient service mixed with amazing food & drinks made for a wonderful evening dining here. Recommendations by the staff were all perfect and food came out timely. Would absolutely dine here again!

Pro: Food, especially the enchiladas, was absolutely delicious and the service was great. Con: Very expensive...we had 4 margaritas at $12+ each that did not seem like there was much alcohol in each drink. Con: We ordered the chips/salsa as an appetizer which came with 4 tostado shell chips (2 for each of us). We had salsa left over and were asked if we wanted some more chips, we said ok and were brought 2 more chips. On our final bill I noticed that we were charged $1 each for these chips! For a check of $125+ certainly they did not have to charge for 2 extra chips in my opinion. Con: Fish taco was not hot. If you want a great meal, this is the place but be prepared to pay for it.
