The food here was alright. Like, I'd go again but I'm not going any time soon. However, this place is totally cool. It's colorful and fun. Kids loved it. And it's incredibly affordable. We went as a family of 5 and it was 30 bucks. Can't beat that. Plus. Free rubber ducky.

My recent visit to Sugar n' Spice Diner in OTR was absolutely delightful. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the charming retro decor and the bustling atmosphere of the diner. The menu offered a wide array of classic diner fare, with plenty of options to choose from. I opted for the famous wispy-thin pancakes, and they were truly heavenly – light, fluffy, and cooked to perfection.

Love coming here for some good breakfast food when we can. Excellent omelets, pancakes, and home fries! The one thing was it took a little time to get our food. I had to eat fast to get back to the office in time. I'm very glad we were able to reserve a booth ahead of time.

All the negative reviews don't take into consideration that this place is a sweet little diner. They aren't supposed to be at their best when they're packed to the gills on a Saturday. Even brunch chains struggle with Cincy crowds, that's a staffing and a demand issue. This isn't waffle house, y'all.Sugar and spice is flawless. Good food, hardly any grease for a greasy spoon, everyone is friendly and the ambiance is wonderful. Come here on a weekday for lunch or breakfast and you will be more than satisfied.

I almost canceled my reservation because of the recent bad reviews…I SHOULD HAVE. In Cincinnati for an overnight get away. We wanted to eat at unique and delicious restaurants. It is unique, kinda. The service was slow and lacked attention. The food took forever….and it was one the worst breakfasts I’ve eaten. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and didn’t taste like eggs. The pancakes were nothing special. Another server noticed (after we sat there for 20 minutes) that we were ready to cash out and took our card.A bummer way to end a nice getaway.PICK ANOTHER BRUNCH SPOT. This one isn’t it. Trust me.

The downtown diner has a remodeled train dinning car incorporated into the floor pan. Fantasical thin pancakes for me.

I love breakfast. This was the worse breakfast I had in a while. First thing, it was very cold outside. It didn't help that there is an overhead breeze the entire time I was there. I had my meal in my coat as well as my mom. Then when the food got there the grits were flavorless. The pancakes were very thin, the blueberries were whole like they were thrown in the batter and then placed on the griddle. My egg was supposed to be over hard with cheese... The egg head yolk running out of it and the cheese was dumped on top and not melted. The syrup is terrible. Taste like runny sugar. The potatoes were cold and clump together. My mom had a waffle and it was awful. It was overall horrible experience. The waiters are overworked. They have so many people they barely check on you. I waited longer to pay my bill then I spent eating. I didn't even finish my food. Very disappointed.

We shared 2 sandwiches: ham and Swiss and cheese steak and both were wonderful. Chicken and waffles was great too! Service very friendly!Parking: Across the street. Either reserve a table or check wait time before you pay to park.

My review didn’t post- Normally, I adore sugar and spice. This experience however, was NOT it. We were immediately so disappointed when our food finally came out but couldn’t even get anyone to pay attention to ask for it to be fixed. Everything was burnt except the eggs which were undercooked. The potatoes had clearly been cooked so many times because they were empty inside. Also, we ordered hash browns but received the hollow, 5x’s cooked potatoes squares instead. The English muffin was inedible, it was so hard and cold, and the pancakes tasted like rancid oil. Parts of our meal were completely forgotten. I mentioned this to our server who finally checked on us when we were done and paying, barely having eaten our food, and she offered kind of sourly to bring the missing parts out… as we were leaving? We didn’t get refills. Truly such a subpar experience, I’m going elsewhere for diner vibes in the future with less hype, cheaper prices, better food, and better service.
