I enjoy every experience at Sophie. The girls and I got to enjoy so many tasty treats - mousse, quiches, croissants, and more. The owner came out to greet us at tell us the story of his business. Wonderful experience! Tasty baked goods!

Such a nice place with pretty decor and delicious pastries. I had the pain au chocolat and chai tea latte. I felt like I was at a little cafe in France again. Bob, the owner came out to talk to our group about the bakery and he was really nice. Found out that the bakery is named after his dog and the local artwork is nice to see. Definitely will be back again to try more pastries.

Sparkling clean, European-style cafe with beautiful pastries and tasty soups, sandwiches, and salads. Quality ingredients. We have been several times and we are never disappointed. The soups are outstanding. A variety of healthy salads and baguette sandwiches are all fresh and unique. Excellent pastries and coffee too!

I recently moved to the area so I’m actively looking for new places to visit. If you haven’t tried Sophie La Gourmande, you’re truly missing out. I had a latte and tiramisu; the tiramisu was fresh and the latte was smooth. If you’re feeling down about living in Cleveland during the winter, your spirits will be lifted by the fresh flowers placed at every table. As I write this review, I can smell the hyacinth at my table. The cafe is clean and bright, creating a welcoming atmosphere.I’ll definitely be back and I can’t wait to bring my friends!

Parking: Go around the back of the building to find the lot. There are also street spaces - not sure if you have to pay.Wheelchair accessibility: Both entrances wheelchair accessible. Bathroom is also accessible. Staff is very helpful with anything you need.

Lovely Cleveland Heights Café. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, with large selection of gourmet French pastries! We enjoyed a honey rose latte and sourdough rye, chocolate chip cookie. Lunch specials also look delicious and I can't wait to come back to try them

I'm such a huge fan of this place because I've never ordered the same thing twice and they've never missed! This place has a plethora of culinary delicacies, from tarts to danishes to mousses, you're never going to find a bad dish. So far, I've been a super fan of the everything-seasoned danish and chocolate croissant, and their seasonal lattes are always a hit, hot or cold. You can dine in or take out, but I really love the ambiance of this cafe and typically end up staying to eat. All of the baristas are super nice and efficient, and they have great recommendations if you can't make up your mind (there are often more options than one knows what to do with). Also, the central location on Cedar Lee means there's lots to do in the area and usually plenty of space to park on the street or nearby adjacent lots. The only criticism I could give is that they're not open enough! 5 stars :)

Went out of our way to visit this place on a few recommendations... Glad we did and also wish we did not.The Good: The baked goods were pretty dang good except for one that was clearly old and hard (almond croissant) (see pics)The Bad: UGH! The people that worked here. Without going into a ton of detail I will just say this, the staff was probably some of the most inpersonable and deliberately unhelpful people I've run into in a while. I would chalk it up to a person maybe having a bad day but everyone i interacted with here was just very short and not friendly at all. None of them clearly enjoyed being there and they made sure you felt it.I will definitely not be returning to this place as it ranked as the least appealing French pastry place out of the three we actively searched out in the Cleveland area. I don't often name drop another establishment when doing a review, but if your looking for a way better experience I would go to "Leavened" in Tremont.

In town for the week. Due to the hours and days that are open I wasn't sure we would make it in. I was so thrilled to make it in on our last day. I love French Pastries. The selection was much more limited than what I am used to. Everything looked delicious. Basque Cheesecake, 3 different flavors of Financiers, Mousse, Panna Cotta, Pistachio Flan that looked delicious. If I could have pistachios I would have ordered it. Various Croissant, from savory to sweet. There were beautiful Quiches. Which I love, however; due to my allergies I couldn't order. Everything looked well maintained, clean and organized. We had decided on a few items. A lot of things we wanted were already sold out. I ordered the Kouign Sophie, it was a Chai flavor. It was delectable. We went back and ordered a second before we left. The outside of the pastry was perfectly sweetened. The inside had a perfect texture and was beautifully flavored. One of the best pastries I've eaten while on this trip We also ordered an Almond Croissant. One of my long time favorites. The flavor was wonderful from what I could taste of it. I was literally trying to break pieces off of it just to try to taste it. If a pastry is that hard/stale maybe reconsider keeping it in the window and selling it. At a place such as this, I would think that they have great passion and respect for the pastries they are making and for their customers. It was the worst and hardest I've ever encountered. Even after a couple of days of having one at home I have not experienced this. There was not a soft spot anywhere. My husband inquired about it when he went to order the other Kouign Sophie and was simply told it was the last one. Without anything else being said. We ended up throwing it away and wasting money. My rating of three stars was based on service. We both left feeling that we probably would not return. Everyone was very impersonal. We were not greeted when we walked in or offered assistance at any time during our visit. When someone finally came to the register we had to initiate ordering. We felt very unwelcome and it was a bit shocking after reading so many great reviews. Hoping it was just a bad day and that this doesn't represent their normal business practice.

We love Sophie’s! Always amazing pastries and sweets. We also love the eggplant sandwich, soup of the day and quiche- their side dishes are amazing as well. Can’t go wrong at Sophie’s! We just wish they were open earlier and more days out of the week!

First time delight tasting your deserts at a reception last nite...loved the chocolate mouse and cookies!

The pastries are very good and I feel a fair price given the quality. The coffee has some room for improvement; there were grains in the cappuccinoThe ambiance feels a little too modern/cold. It's definitely clean but adding decoration/wood would make it feel more cozy.Customer service could use some improvement such as-take the customer's name for coffee/savory orders so the name is announced when ready instead of saying the food/drink (people will inevitably take someone else's order)-have a front of house staff member to bus tables instead of a busser to match the price of the foodOverall I think worth a try!

Best croissant in cleveland by far. Their coffee is way better than any coffee shop in cleveland. Pastries are authentic, place is charming and staff is super friendly. Only thing I think they are missing is having a fresh on the spot sandwich menu.
