This is my favorite chef in CLE. I do like Oak Barrel and Forage better than Bold, though. Excellent service and cocktails. If you dig, you'll find some treats on the menu.

I visited Bold for the first time this past Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Overall, I was somewhat disappointed. The restaurant is decorated well and looks like it could be perfect for date night. The chandeliers are gorgeous and there's even a fireplace. They have tables that can accommodate larger parties (looks like up to 8 or 10). When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was that the restaurant seemed empty. That's not a great sign, especially considering it was a Saturday night and this place is located in a really popular part of town. There was no hostess there to greet us. We hovered awkwardly for a really long time until we finally flagged someone down. The service was just okay. It was a lot slower than it should have been. We ordered drinks right when we sat down, and it took 30 minutes for the drinks to arrive. The food was good. It wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't remarkable either. I ordered the grilled octopus, which was essentially a salad with pieces of grilled octopus. I probably wouldn't order it again. My friend ordered the pierogis, and she really liked it. The lobster nachos were okay, but they are more like lobster crostini's. There are only four pieces - I was expecting more because when I think of nachos, I imagine a whole plate of nachos with messy toppings. They gave us a tiramisu for my birthday, which was really nice and actually really good. I would recommend that dessert. I chose this place for my birthday dinner because it has a lot of great reviews on Yelp, and it came highly recommended by some people I know. This leads me to believe that maybe they were just having a bad night for some reason. I'll be back to try this place again, and I'll be sure to update my review when I do.

My wife and I went to Bold tonight and had a wonderful experience. Our server, Lynn was great. She informed us of items not available however she steered us towards other items worth trying. We left extremely satisfied with the service and the food. Lobster Nachos, Carne Asada and a Spicy Shrimp Scampi.

Lunch menu was not as I expected bUt it waS DELISH. Lots of bowl options full of fresh grains and greens. The magi Maui fish tacos were great but could use a cilantro. It annoys me when better class restaurants use typical pics de Gallo instead of a fresh new style oF their own. Sadly the place was empty. Not surE wherE/how they advertise.

First time visiting here and the only way I can describe our experiences : conflicted. The environment and aesthetic is five stars. Fun complimentary jalapeño hush puppies, but they were really dense and dried out. 4 of the 5 of us had a meat item as a part of the dinner and it was delicious. (burgees, salmon, club sandwich) The sauces, sides, dressings and soup was off. We couldn't put our finger on what was exactly wrong, but the flavors conflicted with the dishes. So much truffle oil on the French frIes. Tried three different salad dressings for the salad and NONE of them worked with the salad flavor profile. The tomato soup held a chalky texture and the vegetables had a very potent and earthy spice that didn't mix well with whatever oil the veggies were cooked in. Mac-n-cheese sauce had a good flavor, but it was mealy. The Brussels were soggy and tasted like they were spoiled because their was SO much vinegar. Overall sides and such were two stars.

We made a reservation at Bold based on an old (outdated) menu another customer shared on Yelp. (Our mistake...Bold has their updated menu posted.) We arrived, ordered drinks, and noticed our mistake. The staff was very, very gracious when we told them about our mistake. We had a very nice glass of red wine and a delicious Manhattan then went on to a restaurant that had more of what my husband had wanted. Five stars for great drinks, a very nice environment, and grace in a potentially-uncomfortable situation. Also, the menu did look very good. My husband was just looking for a particular cut of steak.

I tried the Iberian chicken. The plate looked really nice but the meat had a sort of mangy texture and didn't seem fresh. For what I was paying I would hope to get fresh chicken. The mango mule didn't seem to have enough syrup or was well mixed because once I got to the bottom the ginger beer was overpowering.

Friday night we were coming to cle to see the lights and stop for a downtown meal for the family. I made reservations at BOLD because I had tried it a few years ago and wanted to try again. What an amazing dinner!! The service was superb...we had Tamara! She was incredible! She was so helpful with recommendations and honest feedback. Seriously every part of the meal from drinks and apps to delicious filling dinners was amazing!! Thank you BOLD for the awesome night! Please do not miss this fabulous place downtown East Bank! Oh and the sexy interior and views topped off the experience!!

Tried Bold for lunch and was very pleased. The portion size is generous and offers great value. The lunch menu has a variety of options from crisp, living, green salads to "build your own bowls." We sampled the Friday fried chicken specials. The chicken tenders were massive with the perfect amount of breading and not over oiled from the fryer. The chicken sandwich came with cole slaw on the sandwich. The chicken breast was crisp and meaty. Our server was prompt, friendly and courteous. Atmosphere is pleasant and the restaurant is well maintained and clean. We will be back for lunch or dinner.
