We stopped by for a late lunch at Dave's. I was thinking it would be a super candidate for sub sandwiches given the college campus area. I think the sandwich was ok. The price for a full sandwich was $15 minimum and some of them were in the $20's. Kinda crazy for a college town. Also I'm my veggie full sub, I actually got 2 small ones. Idk if that's the norm, but it was a little strange. The sandwich was fine. I mean, the bread is pretty decent, but the sandwich itself was kinda nondescript. It has all the right ingredients available. For some reason they use shredded cheeses on an Italian type sub. Overall fine.

Dave's cosmic subs appears to be a music oriented facility, but when you show up on a Friday night and the place is closed, dark and quiet. I can't help but remember the old Barking Spider days when a Friday night would have certainly been host to a live musical act. Be it; reggae, rock, jazz, folk or any host of other musical acts. The place would have been crowded from the bathrooms to the patio. A bright cultural flame was extinguished when the Barking Spider closed up shop and Dave's Cosmic Subs certainly hasn't picked up and relit the torch.

They shut off ovens 20 minutes before they close. Why not just close at 8:40 if that’s the case?

It took 40 minutes to get my food. This place has gone down hill since its opening. I will not be coming here for lunch, even though I work beind this place. Be prepared to wait with a stack of sandwiches on the counter. Asked for avacado and there wasnt any put on the sandwich. Had to go up and ask for it and was handed avacado in vacuum packaging. I am pretty sure orders were all mixed up and the workers were overwhelmed. While waiting I also overheard dietary restricted orders being messed up (gluten free and vegan orders). I used to come here regularly when the two older ladies handled this place and that was fabulous. Now this place is rushed. ?? ☹️

Have not been to this place for a long time it was originally the Barking Spider Tavern but know it is Dav’s Comic subs. A per usual the subs are great. The service was great and friendly can’t wait till the music retunes on Aug 12.

This is the worst food I have ever had! The meatball sub was terrible and I asked for extra cheese and there was no cheese at all. I also got Cole slaw or should I say plain cabbage. I threw the order in the trash! Absolutely disgusting!
Pitcher of dos equis was $18.00 fair price for about 5 beers. Lots of good music and pretty girls 10/10 would recommend

Ordered the corned beef and there was an embarrassing amount or corned beef on the sandwich. The corned beef was hard like rebber. Sandwich was completely inedible. Got potato salad too. That was pretty good but dated a week old. Emailed the company and didn't get a response. I won't be eating there anymore.
