The food was excellent here, enjoyed salmon nuggets, cabbage, chicken, and yam pudding a lot. The mac and cheese was nothing special but I’m not a Mac and cheese guy. Got some complementary cornbread that was extremely moist. What this place lacks most is a menu and some price transparency. Some quickly typed out sheet with some prices would really make choosing a meal easier. The menu on google is not accurate, which we found out upon arrival, and he no longer serves one of the things we were planning on getting when we chose this place. There apparently is not an accurate menu to be had. Then I thought since the online menu said 15$ for a special and he told me it comes with 2 sides, that our two specials with sides would cost 30, but he charged 37. I didn’t ask about it, but probably should have. Oh well. Would have been nice to get a pitcher to refill our waters with as well, is someone who is more on top of getting refills, or something like that. My wife used the bathroom and said it smelled so strongly of air freshener that she had to hold her breath the whole time. But to reiterate, the food was in contrast to the rest of the experience and was quite good. Definitely fresh, especially for American food

We visited for the first time for dinner. Me and my family had to get the order to go but the food was amazing. If you’re looking for a restaurant that gives the essence of home-cooked meals, this is the place to go!

I love this place. I have brought several coworkers here and they also enjoyed there meal. The soul rolls and mac and cheese are my favorite. I also like the greens and cabbage! The yam pudding is also so delicious that I get it almost every time! This is not a fast food place so there will be a wait that's well worth it . The staff is courteous and friendly! The place clean and has seating if you want to dine in. I will be back and I encourage anyone who likes the home cooked meal appeal to your lunch or dinner on the go to check them out!

Stumbled upon this restaurant for a late lunch. Food was amazing - big portions with homemade feel. We enjoyed soul rolls, quesadias, and a great meatloaf. Sides included greens, mac and cheese, and yummy sweet potato dish. We chatted with owner and his family, very nice.

1st time I went there & I was with an out of town family member! Man when you say that that was some good home cooked food, you are not kidding! Everything was delicious! I had meatloaf, cabbage & sweet potato pudding with pecans! Oh & corn bread! And the portions are not stingy! I will be returning again & again! Everything, was above board, the service, the ambiance & the service !

I had the soul roll dinner with Mac and cheese and cabbage. one of the best meals I've had, I've never had a soul roll before either but it's a super creative meal. customer service was great and I love that it's family owned. keep up the great work!

I ordered two cheese burgers and fries, the fries were burned, an the burgers looked like White Castle burgers I looked at the burgers and had to ask "Where's the Beef" .... Yea, it could've been way better ....
