Years ago, the atmosphere at Hecks was so much better with live plants, and a vision that was beautiful. Now food good, just not the same.I did not get the burger I ordered, but didnt complain.

I was sorely disappointed in my dining experience at Hecks in Ohio City. I attempted to get something a little lighter than a burger so I opted for the fish and chips. For some reason I thought they had thin fries with truffle oil. But I got a load of soft oily fries. And the fish was deeply deep fried. I felt like I saturated my stomach in vegetable oil. I also got a mai tai which just tasted like bad alcohol and sour mix. Between the acid of the drink and the oil from the meal, I was not happy with my experience. The bar tender was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I mean she was working hard, but it compromised the service. She didn't ask if we needed anything and we had to flag her to get the check.My suggestion would be to stick more on the vegetarian side of the menu. And don't expect a quality cocktail. My partner got a Bloody Mary and she said it wasn't good either and she didn't even touch the greasy fries. Lunch for two was about 80$.

Quite pricey and the food did not really live up to the price tag. Tried the Bolognese and the ribeye. Service was great. Acoustically the restaurant was very loud. Could use some foam on the ceiling or otherwise something to absorb echos.

I ordered the "prime" ribeye medium. 85% of my ribeye, which came as 5-pieces, was well done. I'd say I was actually eating a prime sirloin and not a ribeye. Everything else about the place was good.
