Cute little spot in Ohio City! I stopped in to work remotely for a few hours and left with a few mocktails to try. Staff/owner were all very friendly and the overnight oats were especially delicious.

Many times I have strolled through Hingetown to visit the various amazing establishments in the area and have been curious about stopping into Verbena ever since they took over the space that once housed Cleveland Tea Revival. For months I’ve tried to coax friends into giving it a whirl with me but was met with confused looks wondering as to why I’d want to go to a dry cocktail bar to drink. Tonight I was finally able to bring a coworker in with me to see what was up and it was fantastic…Verbena is a cute and intimate spirit-free shoppe, bar, and cafe with eloquent drinks and tasty small plates, perfect to share with friends. We were the only ones in there on a Wednesday night besides the owner and bartender who were both very welcoming and cheerful. We started off with a couple glasses of the NA rosé which had very good and balanced acid with prominent red currant and cantaloupe notes. We paired that with dates filled with coconut yogurt topped with pistachios and a cheese board. The cocktails were also well made and pleasing to our palates, we didn’t miss the booze in them one bit! The “lychee margarita” with tajin dusted across the top is a must try.We closed the night out with yet a third round of wonderful bevs as well as the “ghia affogato”, again, excellent. I’m so glad I paid Verbena a proper visit and is an amazing weekday after work hang for anyone who isn’t prepared to power through a hangover the next day. I wish my best to the owner and staff and pray for their continued success. I hope they’ll be staying in the space and grow for many years to come. I know my coworker and I will most certainly be back!

I ordered the tomato jam and ricotta toast and an oat milk latte. This was the BEST thing that I have eaten in a while. So delicious!! Employees were incredibly friendly. Bonus points for the patio tables outside!!

Small place that packs a lot of great stuff! We need more dry-bars like Verbena around the CLE metro area. Amazing, delicious alcohol free drinks, can take to go, including bottles and canned drinks, great selection all in one place. Food options were very good, including Vegan. Service was great, and the owner is very nice and helpful.Vegetarian options: Vegan options as well!
As a Muslim, when I heard that there was going to be a spirit-free bar in town, I said I had to try it. For some reason, I was EXTREMELY slow on it. In fact, I even ended up here by accident. I planned to go to Spaces to check out their current exhibit but they happened to be closed and I realized Verbena was in Ohio City. This was a lot better than I expected. While a quant space, the servers were extremely kind and the food/drinks were good. I wanted a Lemonade but the Bar Tender suggested the Lavender Haze so I figured it'd make more sense to try a cocktail. It was VERY GOOD and I was happy to have tried it. We got the Avocado Toast with an Egg. My girlfriend is Gluten Free, and they thankfully had an option. While good, I do with that the toast came with additional toppings (pickled red onions would've been a great addition). All in all, Verbena is a cool spot to check out and a great addition to the Ohio City area. A friend of mine recently stopped drinking and I absolutely plan to take her here.

Drinks are delicious and varied and atmosphere is calming and inviting. Given I'm diabetic and cannot drink, having a perfect spot like this to get to relax and enjoy a drink is a treat im very grateful for.

Have been meaning to try this place and was finally able to go recently. It's located near a bunch of other restaurants, and the inside is really cute with a smaller amount of seating. I had the Chai Espresso Martini (with no spirits of course) and found it very tasty. Our group ordered some food as well -- the cheese board and olives -- and enjoyed that as well. They were out of the usual bread, but the staff was very nice in asking us our preference for replacements. The drinks and snacks were great -- looking forward to going back to try more!

Verbena is for anyone who drinks for taste, whether they're a teetotaler or a total lush. I don't drink any more, but I've had my fair share of finely crafted cocktails and it was clear to me from my first sip of Verbena's offerings that they are not messing around. Whoever curated the cocktail menu and bottle selection is clearly an amari fan and I love them for that. On that note, anyone who loves a good amaro should absolutely should pick up a bottle of The Pathfinder, which is so spot-on in aroma, taste, and mouthfeel that you won't even be thinking about alcohol content after your first sip. Equally exciting are some truly unique offerings like Optimist Botanicals 'Fresh', which blooms with lush, green notes (in particular angelica root) that linger on the tongue as long as any fine alcoholic spirit. I have explored just about every nook and cranny of the high-shelf world of alcoholic spirits—aged grappa, cask-strength Islay, small-batch mezcal, you name it—and while I haven't yet found a zero-proof answer to Laphroaig, I have discovered here at Verbena aromas and flavors completely new to me. And that's pretty danged exciting.
