Good place to get my drink on while the wife gambles

This was not for me. Went on a Wednesday late morning. Disappointing that there was no free handicap parking or at least handicap spots near the walkway. Never saw service with drinks walk by the slot machines. A/C was set too cold. At least the machines worked well.

7/10/19 UPDATE: So get this!! I've been hitting the casino now and then (because I work downtown) to get 500 points so I can get a lunch buffet for $5.55, because the Jack punishes the "J" members. I noticed I worked my way up to over 1100 points in the last month or so. I go to the kiosk to print my $5.55 voucher and it says I have 0 points. I go to the Jack Club and the lady stated I need to get 500 points TODAY in order to get the $5.55. ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME??!!!!!!! Are you people insane??!!! Your buffet isn't that good to gamble that much in a day. Plus I am there for lunch, I don't have time (nor money) for both!!!! COME BACK DOWN TO EARTH!! No senior should be excluded!!!! Never again. Oh, and I was contacted by "Colleen M. of JACK Cleveland Casino" due to other review, so I responded back to see what this representative was wanting to say, and I never heard back.....LOL, good thing I'm not your boss....smh

Dear God people. Do not play blackjack at tables that pay only 6:5. This is a horrible disadvantage to the player. I'm glad the buffet was free for my birthday month because I certainly can't imagine paying that much for mediocre food. Place absolutely does not compare to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh.

I found the casino to be pretty clean. The service was good. The transition putting money into the slot machines instead of putting it on the casino card first makes it easier to use. The penny machines were fun! It's connected to a mall so it makes it quick to grab a bit to eat during the visit to this casino

Very nice large casino. Get their when in the area. Cleveland is an amazing downtown city. Lots of restaurants and bars. Near the baseball and basketball stadiums!!

I had been to the casino once when it was Horseshoe and then last night. Service was slow at the food court. You order at a kiosk and the workers shout your number when finished. That is a bad system. The flatbread was not good and the sauce tasted like if came out of a can. Michael Symon's place was much better and classier. There was no live music and the atmosphere was dull. The slot machines had no to little payout. I will not be returning.

Well. I went into the Casino this afternoon. No excitement very dismal. I would say below average would be giving it a generous spot. I lived in Phoenix close to several. Even their worst was better than this.

Randomly when your up all night flying across the country you sometimes catch the train out of the airport and where does it end up The Casino! Yeah I really just couldn't not walk in here with two huge bags of luggage to stop to play some roulette for a minute because why the hell not it just sounded like a good idea and walking out a few dollars richer than I was when I walked in it was then that I did feel this was totally worth it! They had some table games some slot machines craps and all the goodies you find at a typical casino including my favorite roulette which is the game I usually tend to play because it's just what's good for the time being as it's one of the ones I usually win at. Of the games here they had a good assortment for the size of the casino as it didn't really feel that big but it had enough to keep me happy and win a bit for the time being. They also had a check-in offer for one of the restaurants here so if your going to be here for a good amount of time definitely take advantage of that! One of the best things I found about this casino is that it was smoke free so you don't have to cough up a lunge wile you throw your money away or take theirs so that's definitely a huge plus! Overall a fun little stop for the beginning of a brand new adventure for me so why not roll the dice once or twice good luck and gamble positive!

I have visited Jack Cleveland Casino multiple times. I'm always happy with the selection and variety of their video slot machines. I don't play tables so I cannot speak to them but there seem to be plenty of them available. I've noticed that Jack's switches out video slot machines frequently which keeps coming back fun and interesting. The drink waitresses that walk around are friendly and frequent. The casino itself is clean and modern looking. My favorite part about Jack Cleveland Casino is their frequent player card. There are always several promotions that allow you to earn free play money, get free parking, and offer free products. Their earning rewards systems is easy and seems to pay off.

Gross. So I was downtown for jury duty and one of my fellow jurors suggested we head over to the casino on our lunch break. What a dismal depressing place. Hundreds of people sitting around in the MIDDLE of the day on a WEEKDAY staring dead-eyed; sullenly pushing buttons to make the machines take more of their money. Not a single smile or laugh in the place. It was depressing. I get that casinos are explicitly designed the way they are for a reason, and I get that inspite of all evidence to the contrary there are people who consider it "fun." I dont know, when I think of something fun I think of laughing, smiling, exchanging stories with my friends, maybe over a meal. These people looked downright miserable. The "food court" was slow as all get-out, they didnt get any of our orders correct, and the food was bland and way overpriced for what it was. In literally every aspect this was a place I will never go to again. Yuck.

We were in The Cleveland area and decided to try out the casino one evening. Save your time and money. The only positive about this place is that it's smoke free and the deli in the food court wasn't too bad! It's actually a very depressing atmosphere and seems to attract a very questionable crowd!! (Like me?) Anyways, I guess it was entertaining to throw away some money for a couple of hours, so that was about the only thing I can say about this casino. If you want a fun time go to the casinos in Detroit!!

The original site of Higbee department store. This one of the sites in A Christmas Story movie debuted 1983. The store sold sine than and is now Jacks casino.

I'm not much of a gambler, so I didn't go into the casino. But, this is the building formerly known as Higbees Department store in A Christmas Story. That's the only reason I wanted to go there. Pretty cool huh.

If I am being honest, how does one leave an unbiased review about a place that is more than willing taking the money you throw at it and give me a small fraction of it back? Do you leave a good review only if you win big? Is it about the ambiance or the staff? Is it all of the above? I think I will go ahead and say it is something cumulative and leave my review based on that. Fleeced I tell ya. Fleeced. I feel like a friggin sheep! I have been to this casino many times over the past few years, and I have yet to win anything sizeable. I have been to the other JACK location and have won nice sums....but this place steals my money like a Russian whore. Why do I keep coming back you may ask? Good question. Yet, I do not have the answer. Hopeful? Stupid? Yes. The casino itself is very pretty and set in an iconic building in Tower City. Lots of tables and a good amount of slots. The staff here is MEH....nothing to write home to mom about. Not that I would want to tell mom I was gambling my inheritance away anyways. Parking here is horrible. HORRIBLE! Nothing is free and you have to spend the equivalent of $150 to get free parking. I SAY NAY NAY! I probably will still idiotically come back here every once in a while. But, that is the story of my life!
