I don't leave reviews really ever but this place deserves it and so much more!My family and I were astonished with how exceptional the service and food was, especially because of the situation. We didn't realize what time they closed until we arrived, which was 20 minutes before they were closing. So we decide to just take our order to go upon arrival. The owner himself had greeted us when we walked in and after we said we wanted to take it to go due to how close it was to closing, he vehemently insisted we experience their food for the first time while dining in (he learned it was our first time there). So we agree, and as soon as we were seated, a very friendly waitress (cannot remember her name but she was a bubbly Latina with hair pulled back into a bun and had bangs) came up to us and despite the timing, was extremely hospitable and welcoming. We were even given a complimentary sample of their meats and sauces which we weren't even expecting. My parents loved every bit of it and were reminiscing the entire time about their days back in New Mexico and how similar the food was to what they were used to when they lived in New Mexico. Once we ordered, the food came out very quickly and tasted phenomenal. The owner came by to check on us and talk a little more about the background of the restaurant before we left.Between their hospitality and quality of the food, we unanimously agreed this was beyond the best experience we have ever had at any restaurant ever.Thank you guys for being so kind and for bringing amazing cuisine to Columbus! I am absolutely telling everybody about this place and hope my review helps many others to go have the same amazing experience we had!Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for vegetarians, which is one of the reasons we had chosen to eat there, as one in our group was vegetarian and wanted to give her options.

We decided to come here today after reading some of the most recent reviews and Chile Verde did not disappoint!!Warm welcome from the owner, who informed our server that it was our first time there. She brought over some really tasty salsa and fresh chips and then brought us a sampler of all of their signature sauces and meats so we could understand their flavours before we chose our meal.....Long story short, excellent service, excellent, fresh food, fantastic vibe, obviously popular (we arrived at 4.45 and by 6pm there was a line out the door!).Do yourself a favor and try this simply wonderful local gem!

Don't order on DoorDash or Grubhub too expensive!!!! Call to order and pick it up or dine in. Get the Chile Renos and sopapillas!

Ordered because it was highly recommended, maybe we went in with too much expectations. There are no 'extras' as with traditional mexican restaurants, leaving you to fill yourself up on the main entree. Unfortunately, these are SMALL. Especially for the price. I paid almost $20 for two corn tortillas with only several bits of chicken inside topped with regular nacho cheese. When I order I expect quality better or equal to my kitchen. My daughter got what I could barely call one taco for $10, it was a cheap crunchy shell and a handful of meat. THAT'S IT. It's not even a taco with those few things!! Even with inflation I know the cost of these ingredients. If you are charging that much ADD MORE FOOD. It tasted ok but nothing I'll be talking about (except for negatively) tomorrow.

No horchata, but they had Jarritos. BBQ burrito was great. Delicious cheese sauce inside. More bell peppers than I expected, but still tasted really good. We also got enchiladas. Chile relleno was the best we've had in Ohio.

This is my favorite Mexican food restaurant in town. We've been coming here for years. All the folks are pleasant, genuine, and great to interact with. Discovered a new dish last time, the Stew. Great.

I chose to build my own rice bowl. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. My only complaint is that there was barely meat. My daughter had the same issue in hers. Luckily I added the fried egg which gave me more protein.

We’ve been coming here for years but this visit was disappointing. The chips were stale. The rice wasn’t fully cooked and had hard break-your-teeth kernels in it. We typically share 1 order of chicken fajitas and they are now charging a $6 split fee which is not cool.

Amazing food, amazing service, and friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed the time spent here, as well as the food. I felt like I was a friend coming home, and would come back again and again.

Delicious food! It was a Saturday night and very busy but we got in pretty quick. Service was friendly and fast. Drinks were very good. Food was amazing, very big portions!

The margaritas were good but way to expensive.. $11.00 for the smallest drink ever!Navajo taco was marginal …then add a $3.00 split charge?! We are trying to support local… but will not be going back… Local cantina is our go to place now!

I used to come here years ago . I found out last week from dining in that the quality of food has deteriorated . The fajitas , you get more onions than meat and then you have to play hey let's pick the little dry chicken pieces game . They overcharge you for every little substitution , allergy or not. well if you're going to overcharge me for by almost 3 bucks per enchilada for changing one meat over another, maybe I'd like to know and I would stick with one option over the other ... nice gimmick. The Chili relleno was overcooked hardly had any melted cheese in it and very soggy ... I asked that it has verde sauce on it (the restaurant name by the way) barely had any on it... so I asked the server to bring me the green salsa on the side . She did bring me a small tiny side of it (not a bottle or even a bowl) and charged me $2 for it LOL ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? this used to be a nice hidden gem but I think quality has gone down significantly while menu price just rocketed. Not worth it in my opinion, extremely disappointed... and if I wanted a cheaper sub average tex mex American Mexican food I'll just go to the average neighborhood El Vaqueros .

Husband and I stopped on a Saturday after seeing a movie. Seated quickly and our server came over immediately. She was very friendly. We had dark dos equis and modelo to drink. I ordered flatbread taco which was giant and I took half of it home. Husband got two steak fajita tacos. Food was great and a bit pricey but worth it. Clean bathrooms and great tasting salsa for fresh taco chips. We will definitely stop back.

Chile Verde is an office favorite so I've been many times! Never been disappointed in my meal or had any issues. They're used to the lunchtime crowd and service and food is quick. Any of their dishes including chorizo, potatoes, and/or queso are some of my favorites. Their salads are large as well. Chips and salsa is plentiful and yummy. The New Mexico spin on typical Mexican food is a welcome change. My office has also ordered their catering multiple times (most recently for 70 people). Always on time, exactly as ordered, plenty for everyone (including seconds!). If you have a large group they do have a private room in back if you let them know ahead of time.

During Covid-19’s lockdown we often ordered carry out from this restaurant. We discovered their Anasazi salad with a couple of toppings and a side dish such as beans is certainly enough for two.
