Love this place SO much!!! Have been many times in person but tonight ordered food from there via DoorDash and wasn’t sure how it would go but J’s wrapped up the food perfectly and kept cold from hot and put ice pack with the shrimp cocktail. So impressive! Never seen a restaurant handle takeaway with this much care. Love this place even more!!! Highly recommend.

Manny was our server. He was great! I had the 4 oz fillet with salmon. It was cooked perfectly. The crab bisque was delicious. And for dessert I had the chocolate velvet cake fabulous! It's definitely not an inexpensive meal. But it was all delicious. Good atmosphere. The booth are kind of close together and the isles are narrow. Everyone was warm and friendly. I forgot to take pictures of our food.

We did a take out. I really felt the food was very overpriced, for what you get. The presentation is great. But the actual food wasn’t that great. Everything was coated in butter. The steaks were not cooked like they should have been. I ordered mine Medium Well and I really got rareBecause we picked them up and brought them back to our campsite there was nothing I could do. I also had asparagus and Yukon potatoes. I wasn’t fond of any of it. Now the Cesar Salad was great. I really liked it and the dressing. Overall I would say don’t waste your money, because you will be disappointed.

As soon as you walk in you're immersed in fantastic smells and the great atmosphere of the refined restaurant. The service was fantastic through to the end with great knowledge of the menu and being very attentive the whole time but not overbearing. The food was the highlight. The scallops were seared perfectly and not chewy at all. The steak was equally perfectly done. The bar also boasts many impressively crafted drinks. I will definitly be returning many times.

We are first-time visitors and when I say we're impressed and can't wait to get back it's the gospel truth.Our first visit. Happy Hour at the bar. Everything was superb. From the moment we entered during our entire visit and as we were leaving we were treated like royalty. I'm 79 years young. I've worked with the public in a variety of careers as far back as the 1960's. Customer Service in today's world is rare. True (royal) fine dining is almost a thing of the past.Having visited two other steak houses in Columbus--both with stellar reputations and outstanding fare. J Gilbert's is the standard bearer. Nothing compares. Not even in the same category. Our server, Ms. Taylor, was a delightful young lady who was professional in every sense of the word.My dinner partner and I were aghast at her level of service, the variety of offerings, the preparation, and the presentation. The drinks were not "watered down" and filled to the brim. I had a bourbon cocktail and my partner had a pineapple cocktail. Both were exquisite.Hats off to the chefs, hats off to the decor designers and hats off to a wonderful staff. Everyone we encountered (no exceptions)made us feel welcome.I'm a horse n' buggy guy. Old fashioned works for me. The atmosphere was like stepping into a time and space where class and elegance was the norm. Ms. Taylor has the bearing of an owner. Whatever her aspirations are--whether in the service industry or elsewhere she convinced us she's headed for the stars.We're Seniors, so when we say something or someone is "gold standard" it's not hyperbole. It is not an overstatement in the least. J Gilberts and the Columbus (Campus View location) team are PLATINUM. 100% top-of-the-line. They exceeded our expectations and we will be back. As a token of our appreciation each left our wonderful Ms.Taylor a 22% tip. A commendation for excellence and genuine appreciation for a job well done!
This place was amazingggg my fiancé took me last night March 17th for my birthday and it was such a nice setting & our waiter was EVERYTHING. I believe his name was Josh or Jake. We had the crab cakes and they were so good and the sauce that came with them were amazing 10/10 my waiter also gave me this delicious slice of carrot cake for free for my birthday ?
