Mac's Proper Pub has been on my radar for a few years because my best friend took me there to try the sauerkraut balls, and I've been going back to have them ever since then. Recently I discovered that they have a great happy hour which includes half off apps and specialty cocktails, so off I went to have a dinner of apps. Mac's was the first stop on my "figure out which bar is the vibe right now" walk with a friend. I felt like Mac's had a really family-friendly and casual feel to it. No loud, crazy music or TV (or people). If you're looking to hang out with some friends, eat, have a drink, this is probably a good spot for that. Long time establishment in Columbus. We came here today lunch after an afternoon of running around town. We likely missed the brunch crowd as most everything I wanted was out (scotch eggs, fish and chips). I got the burger with fries, which was decent enough. The fries are fresh cut, so that was a plus. Service was fine. The only bad part was finding parking!
