Modern Southern Table offers you the best of old style Southern food at the Budd Dairy Hall. The greens are the best I ever had. The Mac n cheese was not a disappointment. It was homemade & really good. I ordered their original version of fried chicken that was crispy & delicious. I can't wait to try the Alabama version. The service was surprisingly polite just like old days. This place has the recipe to be a winner overall! Best of luck on their continued success & I plan on continuing to visit

Yesterday (April 6th) was my third and last visit to Modern Southern Table. The first issue I had was with the young lady who took my order. I stood with my daughter in front of her waiting for her to acknowledge us. When she finally did acknowledge us, she snapped saying she was waiting for me to order. Now on my other two trips the customer service was better (not great but better). I was taken aback and that should have been my que to go elsewhere but I didn't (my mistake). Now to the food. On my very first trip to this establishment my food was excellent. The second trip it was noticeably not as good as the first time but yesterday it was a very noticeable drop off from my first trip (approx a year ago). The positives: The greens were the only bright spot. I order 2 fried catfish filets with mac&cheese with greens. The greens had some kick and were seasoned perfectly. The mac&cheese was MID! It tasted like it had been frozen then thawed and baked. I guess if you're not a nac&cheese connoisseur then it was pretty good BUT I know real mac&cheese and this "ain't it". Lastly the catfish was fried too hard. It was seasoned pretty good but the filets were on the smaller side and hard. The price is expensive and honestly not worth it based on the food!

Took 50 minutes to wait for three sides. Fried okra, yams, and hush puppies. Our whole party done ate all their food and was headed home before we even got our food. We order these dishes last because they were sides and figured it wouldn’t take as long. Turns out the other four places got everybody else’s food out and ate before we even received ours. This is my third disappointed from this place.

My family and I finally got around to checking this place out today and I must say, I was underwhelmed. Let's talk about the pros: Chicken: was perfect. It was well seasoned, crunchy without being overcooked, and the pieces were all a good size. Timing: Upon ordering the estimated time was 40-50 min, but I got the alert saying it was ready in about 20 min. I'll gladly take half the expected time! Portions: I do think the sides and overall amount of food I received for a $15 was very reasonable and I had leftovers. Now for the cons. All the sides, quite frankly. The collars greens were way too salty. Another review mentioned that so I think that's the norm. The cornbread was overly dry. The rice was undercooked, and while the Mac n cheese wasn't bad, it was salty as well. I don't know if I will be back again, but if I do it'll be for the chicken basket only. I'm not willing to try the sides again.

I wanted collard greens they didn't have them.. They told me 20 minutes on my order, I ended up waiting 40. My food never came. I guess the lady with the glasses didn't like my energy. So At minute 41 ( Ten minutes after the rest of my party had finished eating) I checked one more time to see if my order was ready. And it wasn't so I asked for a refund the end.

This Is Niki, if the Owner & Staff Sees this....I Have Been a Big Fan of this place since it opened!!!I honestly believe modern Southern table is the rare gem at the Budd dairy food hall !!The food is phenomenal! The staff is awesome. It's like going to eat on Sunday at grandma's house in south!My suggestion is to always orderLOW COUNTRY on FISH OR CHICKEN!!ITS ????

There is something to be said about a restaurant that has delicious food, a vibrant atmosphere, great customer service and an even better owner. There was a slight challenge with my meal and the owner, Ms. Daisy, reached out to me to resolve it. She was so professional and displayed great customer service when helping to make me a happy customer and to protect her business, which I completely understand. To Ms. Daisy, thank you for being amazing and creating a well-known business with delicious food.Vegetarian options: I'm not sure, but whatever I get, it's always delicious!
All I'm saying is that first sip of Kool-Aid will have you saying "Lawwwwddd". This is real southern cooking that reminds me of my grandma's cooking. The portion are phenomenal and the staff is friendly
