The servers knowledge of the menu was very impressive! My wife and I went there for her birthday. The food was amazing. The service was impeccable. If you’re eating the chefs- tasting menu, probably don’t need an appetizer, we were full by course 3 of 5

Wow! What an experience. We got so much in depth knowledge about the fascinating history of the building. The service was top notch. The food was to die for! And it was amazing that they had alcohol free wine options as well as being so attentive to dietary needs. We are absolutely coming back!

Being french ourselves, we were looking for a restaurant that feels like being home as we moved to Columbus a year ago. This is the place! The food is amazing, very tasty, full of flavours, nicely presented and you feel like you've eaten just the right amount at the end. Service is fantastic, we loved that we were explained the history of the place. Will definitely come back and suggest to anyone looking for a real french experience!Vegetarian options: Full testing menuParking: Very large parking lot private to the restaurant, plenty of space.

We found and indulged in a fine dining experience like none other at The Refectory. From beginning to end, this culinary experience was superb in every way. The servers and sommelier were well versed in the preparation and pairings of everything on the menu. The chef is a master of his craft and is incomparable anywhere in the surrounding states. Excellence abounds here! Do not hesitate to give it a try. You will not regret it!

This was our first time visiting and it was such a wonderful experience. The food and wine pairings were excellent, and the staff was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you for treating us so warmly and making our visit so memorable. We will definitely be back for future occasions.

Our party of three found the total experience great, a birthday was celebrated in style, we've been over the years and never disappointed. Still not sure about new menu changes (now daily) due to fewer features but I can understand how that allows Chef Blondin (coming up on 30+ years, March 6) to concentrate his considerable talents.....Waiter very knowledgeable about the food, wine, and desserts -- worked as a team with bartender. We chose Lion Tamer from Hess after consulting server and wine list.Wife & daughter chose "loup de mer" after soup (spinach & celery) & finished with creme brulee; I had lamb chops after beet salad, finished with a fruit tart.Bread was good at table -- we purchased an artisan loaf to take home with some proceeds going to World Central Kitchen for its very worthy work.

Such a treat! I am not a connoisseur of French cooking by any means, but after reading a novel about a French chef, we were inspired to seek out a French restaurant on our mini vacation to Columbus from Cincinnati. The Refectory was a real gem. From the kind welcoming at the door by Kamal, the owner, who clearly loves his restaurant and everyone who comes in, to the serving staff who are impeccably trained and attentive, to the cozy fireplace table in the historic atmosphere, the incredible history of the building and oh yeah .. the food! I had the 5 course vegetarian dinner, and my partner had the 5 course meat dinner and everything was delicious! Carefully curated flavors in perfect portions… we cleaned (almost) every morsel off each of our 6 plates. It made our trip very memorable and special.
