It's always a joy to have such great food in an equally great venue. Lucky to be a last-minute work thing to Columbus that day and found I had a 2 hour window of NOTHING to do. Lunch and great service came to mind. 7 minutes later, I was sending a photo from the bar to my jealous wife.

Perhaps it’s just my unfamiliarity with German cuisine, but I honestly found every dish difficult to enjoy at this restaurant. I’m sorry to say that I must rate the food poorly. Despite the excellent service and wonderful atmosphere, a restaurant’s foundation should be its food. Therefore, I can only give it three stars.

Tried lots and lots of menu items. Could not find anything that was not life-changing and fabulous. Plan to go back soon and often to try all the rest of the items. Highly recommend the sausage sauerkraut ball and beer cheese pretzel bites appetizers, and all the sandwiches.

The food, the service, absolutely everything was on point and it took me to a little place in heaven. If you do not get the giant cream puff, we could never be friends.
Have gone to Schmidt’s for years and love the entire experience. The food is outstanding, service is always good and the atmosphere is totally German Village.
