One of my favorite places in the city! Great food and excellent service every time. There's not a bad thing on the menu but the diavola is my favorite.

My husband and I visited Trattoria Roma this past Sunday and had a wonderful server. We made a reservation for 4:00 (when they opened) but arrived a little earlier, and she was nice enough to let us in to get seated. Seems like a fairly small, family-owned restaurant as her daughter was friendly and also attended to us. Decor is nice, dim lighting, semi-romantic. Food was decent but I'll admit, bland for Italian. My favorite course was probably my Caesar salad with anchovies added for an upcharge. We also got the bruschetta and arancini (no herbs at all in the marinara sauce) as appetizers. For the entrees, he ordered the Taste of Italy trio with lasagna, chicken Parmesan and angel hair Alfredo. I got a full order of lasagna. Both of us said the same, it wasn't bad but lacked a real depth of flavor mainly because they don't seem to use any fresh herbs in their marinara. Overall ok dinner, but too many other Italian places on my list to try for me to return any time soon.

This is a date night spot for my boyfriend and I. The food is amazing and for the price there's a lot of it. The staff are friendly and respectful. I have never had an issue with food quality or rude staff.

The stuffed meatball is a can’t miss…same with the new shrimp pesto appetizer. The staff & owners are welcoming and informative. If you aren’t a friend when you come in, you are when you leave. I come here when I’m visiting from Chicago…it’s a delight !

We had heard good things about Trattoria Roma, a long standing neighborhood favorite when on Morse Road. It was my wife's and my anniversary so we were looking forward to a good meal. I started with a small wedge salad, but I ask you, when have you EVER had a wedge salad that didn't have bacon included (myself, never) on this $8 salad which was quarter wedge on a very small head, about the size of a grapefruit, smoked bacon was a $3 up-charge, and only three grape tomatoes halved. My wife had a salad, average, no complaints. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs in an Arrabbiata sauce with meatballs and my wife (not understanding the eggplant parm came with its own sauce) ordered her eggplant parm with Arrabbiata also (it was never explained this was over a $5 up-charge) The Arrabbiata had way too many diced onion and an odd flavor I couldn't place but neither of us liked it all. My meatballs were dense and hard and rubbery with very little flavor, my wife tasted them and agreed. Dinner was served with dinner rolls, nothing exceptional, certainly no Italian bread you'd come for, for just the bread alone, and when that was gone with our salads, no more was offered. After we finished (and I barely ate half my meal) we were asked if we would like anything. We declined and then we were asked how we enjoyed everything, and I had to be honest, I said I did not enjoy mine at all, I explained the sauce was not enjoyable and not at all what I expected (which by the way, I never had the chance to mention since our server didn't check in with us during the meal) I also mentioned the meatballs were small and dense and I didn't enjoy them, at which point I would have expected him to either discount a portion of the meal or the very least have the manager stop at the table, neither of which happened. It was obvious I did not enjoy my meal as I didn't want to package it up or even bother to take it home. Feeling guilty, but without asking, our server brought us a lemon cello cake, possibly to make us feel better about the bad meal , it was okay but also not enough to smooth things over for a meal that was $63 before tip, no drinks but water. Very Expensive and Very Disappointed.

Great atmosphere, nice bar, intimate dining room, friendly servers, cheerful owner. Minus one star because the menu is still very carb-focused. A few more options (or just adaptations, really) for the low-carb, keto, Paleo, carnivore customers would be such a welcome addition!! But honestly, this is a gorgeous restaurant that you are bound to fall in love with simply for its ambience and wine list!Dietary restrictions: Some low-carb optionsParking: Paid lots down the street. Paid on-street parking out front if you can grab one. Don't park in lots that are signed for other businesses - it's enforced.

Went here for Valentine’s Day dinner. overpriced and bland food. Worst lasagna I’ve ever had. Slow service. Don’t recommend here.

Have always loved it here in the past. Made reservations a month ago to celebrate Valentines Day (a few days late). They were busy, but not packed. Always quite a few empty tables the entire time we were there. As always, the food was delicious and the waiter was sweet. However, the hostess insisted on giving us the worst seat in the restaurant (tiny table, middle of the main busy aisle way)even though there were plenty of better seats available.

Very good! We hadn't been there in a while. our service & food were outstanding ! The parking is now a little complicated in Grandview b/c the restaurants are all very good, but this place is worth it?

Great service and atmosphere. My chicken parmesan was the worst. The chicken must have been old, as not tasteful at all and was tough to chew. Even though it was my first time there, not planning on revisiting.

Overall it was a nice place. Started with the bruschetta which was a little different than what I'd had before. This was on focaccia bread instead of a crostini. My husband ordered the Taste of Italy platter and I ordered the lasagna. I ended up with the Rotolo di Pasta which was delicious (the waitress and I were talking about which of the two she recommended, and she accidentally mixed them up). Honestly, I wasn't upset!! Hubby said the lasagna was really good but that the other two items on the plate (chicken parm and alfredo) were very lacking in flavor/seasoning. My only and biggest complaint is that the food was lukewarm. I'm not sure if it was because they were busy (Valentine's Day) or maybe they put our food aside to figure out what to do about the food mix-up. We both agreed we would come back (him for the lasagna and me for the Rotolo) but this time we would probably send it back if the temperature was the same.

One of the best meals we've had in a long time, and our server was very attentive. Thanks for making our anniversary dinner so special!

We enjoyed our visit. We liked being sat in the front window, but it was a mixed blessing. It was a bit cold near the windows and the patio area was a bit messy and not tidy in the off season. That was what I looked at for a lot of my dinner. The food was very tasty! We both enjoyed our meals. My only complaint was the meat portions seemed a bit stingy. I was also a little surprised to read that any rolls after the first basket would be an additional charge. Also, I paid $7 for a side salad that should have been much cheaper. Our waitress was friendly and fairly good, but we ran out of drinks before the end of our dinner and she didn't return until she brought our check. Overall we had a good visit.
