Never a bad meal here. Friendly servers and delicious food!Kid-friendliness: They will make smaller/cheaper versions of most dishes for the kiddos.

The food is really good at Chowder House. The entrees are over priced. My husband ordered the cioppino and there was very little there and it was very expensive. More than it should cost for the quantity - and more than it would cost in other restaurants for the same quantity/quality. The seafood pappardelle is very good and very rich - a little goes a long way. The service isn't great. Nearly every time a server walked by our table one of them bumped my chair. Maybe they're trying to squeeze too many tables in. With a few tweaks this good be a really good place. If I go back I will get two apps and leave it at that. Maybe we were there on a mediocre night. It's probably worth a try.

Good food. Expensive. It's small but nice. We would go again but you will spend $100+ for 2 people.

This is my go to restaurant when I want seafood. The service is always amazing, the food is always great and they have the perfect balance of not rushing you through your meal and letting you enjoy your evening. I prefer the funky vibe of the original restaurant, but understand the need for this location.

Stephanie M was a great server. The clam chowder, shrimp toast, and seafood pappadella was excellent. The fish and chip were just ok. Portions was huge but the breading was too thick and some of the fish was under cooked. Very pricey.

Clam chowder and lobster bisque are exceptional, as was the caramel infused cheesecake desert. Every entree was well prepared and presented and of "I'd order this again" quality.

Very average food. The pasta in both the lobster ravioli and seafood papperdelle were gummy. Both sauces were thick with very little flavor. Our server was inattentive and bothered. Won't be going back.

This place was awesome. The food was fantastic for the appetizers to the dessert. We had the crab cakes, lobster bisque, 2 cocktails, scampi stuffed with crabmeat, shrimp and grits, and the tuna and noodles dish. Lots of flavor in every bit. Will definitely be coming back

Food came very slow out of the kitchen. I don't believe we were there at any particular rush time. Waiting a very long time for our meal was the only dissatisfaction. Otherwise a very good meal.

One of our favorite restaurants in Akron, they have the best food! A hidden gem more should visit!

The atmosphere was cozy and all the customers seemed to be enjoying themselves, giving it a happy feel. The service was very friendly and efficient. The server was willing to offer opinions and suggestions and was patient with my questions. The salmon over vegetables was heavenly. The vegetables were so good that it seemed like magic was involved in their preparation! The Sottish salmon was fresh and prepared expertly. The scallop risotto that we ordered was also delicious. My side salad was a large portion of fresh and crispy mixed greens and some very tasty red sweet peppers that might have been slightly roasted. They had great flavor but were not soggy as roasted peppers often are (if they were roasted.) The clam chowder was enjoyed by one of us but has never been my favorite. I prefer a less thickened and more clammy (and heavy cream and butter and bacon) taste. Overall it was excellent food and a wonderful dining experience!

My wife and I enjoy finding places we’ve not been to for dinners out. The Chowder House is one of these places that we didn’t know about until I happened to be in the area for work and spotted this gem. I made reservations for a Friday night and we drove an hour for our first dining experience and visit to “The Valley”. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. We started with the arancini balls with a red sauce, these were at the top of the list for the best we’ve ever had and the sauce was amazing. Next we both had a bowl of the lobster bisque and it had great flavor. As a second starter we shared the shrimp and grits. The shrimp was tender and the seasoning delicious. My lady had the scallops with acorn squash pastry special and I had the lobster ravioli. We both enjoyed every bite. To finish we shared creme brulee and salted caramel cheesecake. Our waitress took great care of us bringing each course out at the right time without rushing or delaying the dinner. We totally enjoyed dinner at the Chowder House and are looking forward to returning.
