Giant Eagle Bakery

I rated the store very good only because the checkout person was pleasant. The layout of the store is not a favorite with me. Too dark lighting in some areas. In my opinion, dies not have a good layout for easy shopping. When I shop, I want to get in and get out in a reasonable time. And pleasant workers to answer questions ... This area needs a little work. Oh well, nothing is always perfect so I do with the best shopping experience I can get! And keep looking for better!

Giant Eagle has the worst customer service out of any grocery store. I purchased a gift card for my friend's baby shower and it was never loaded by the new cashier. I was in a hurry and didn't realize the cashier never gave me the little activation receipt. Never had a problem so I didn't think much. When my friend tried to purchase an item it said it had already been used. I called the store and was told a case would be opened. Three days later I received notification that they looked into it and the (new) card was already used and if I had any questions to call the retailer. I called the retailer and they checked the card, it was never loaded was directed back to giant eagle and given a reference number for giant eagle to call. I had to call giant eagle again and I was offered a giant eagle card which would be sent. I asked for the gift card I originally purchased and they told me they couldn't do that. So now I had to wait for the giant eagle card to be mailed and turn around back to the store to purchase the correct gift card. They would not call the retailer even though I gave them the reference number to babies r us and the 800 number. They kept saying that the card was already used when in fact it wasn't. After the time I spent getting the run around and the way I was treated I am no longer a customer. This was just the final straw with poor service. They hire kids who are unfriendly and can't bag groceries. I have had to re-bag groceries to prevent my bread and vegetables from being smashed since the kids couldn't figure out how to bag groceries. This store doesn't care about its loyal customers.
