My husband and I have come here a number of times in the last 10 years; and this breakfast always delivers. The corn beef hash is probably my personal favorite. Their croissants are also divine - flaky and crunchy on the outside, buttery and soft and chewy on the inside. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The service is fast. If you want to get the coziest/more laid back experience (and if you have the luxury/random day off), I’d suggest coming in on a weekday right when they open. Haven’t been for dinner yet but hoping to try it soon!

Leaving this review to let people know that this place is over-hyped. Based off its reputation and branding, we were ready to have our socks knocked off. However in my experience the perceived value is much more than the actual. I will say that the menu is more creative than most and the atmosphere was appealing (although pretty crammed). The food would’ve gotten one more star from me if It didn’t leave our stomachs feeling ill afterwards. Disclaimer: my perspective is coming from that of a vegetarian. (Based off the greasiness anyone is at risk of a tummy ache-but the food would probably get a better rating from a meat-eater) However for all my herbivores out there --> the vegetarian options were not only less than we hoped, but underwhelming. We both got sandwiches that were more showy than user-friendly, served on an enormous and cumbersome croissant.Vegetarian options: Seldom and un-exciting as far as savory options go. You’ve got some sweeter things, the all too common avocado toast, then one other sandwich-which I went for. The flavor was unique, but the main contents were literally only 1 egg and 3 thick planks of zucchini. We need protein, 2 eggs MINIMUM!To conclude, you’ll find something If you’re going there with friends but if you don’t eat meat I would not seek it out.

First time there, our server Gabriel was great, super friendly, and informative. We had a group of 7, we started with a few apps, we enjoyed them. I had the pasta carbonara, it was very good. I make homemade pasta, and love getting it properly made and cooked at a restaurant. My husband had the Jaegerschnitzel. It was a nice portion and delicious- a bit more of the mushroom gravy, please ?. Everyone enjoyed their meal which rarely happens. We are looking forward to a return visit.

I've had breakfast and dinner here, and it's always been great. The food is fresh and the menu often has new dishes to try. Also nice to support a veteran owned business.

Told to arrive by a certain time. Then waited way longer (more than an hour) than we were told we would need to. Food was ok. Service wasn't terrible. The prices were so unbelievably high! Couldn't believe it!

Post-meal update:While the whole wait time and indications by the hostess that the wait would be 20 minutes was terrible, I waited and was seated at a table.Overall the experience was not bad. The service from the wait staff was good and quick and the kitchen staff was fast as well. I had ordered the bacon appetizer and it came out on a great looking butcher block wood tablet. I ordered the Steak and eggs as en entree and the steak was medium rare like I wanted with good temperature. I'm not a fan of the potato pancake but it does bring a good flavor to the dish.Overall, pretty good.----I'm sure this would be a great restaurant to enjoy based on all the other ratings, but after driving 20 minutes to get there and two hours of waiting, that was not the case. I still have not been seated at the time of this review. It was interesting standing there at the one hour mark as a party of four entered. I watched as the hostess nonchalantly told these people it would be 20 minutes despite my waiting an hour. Alongside me was a party of four, who had also been waiting an hour. The other party of four told the new party of four it would be at least an hour wait. The wait staff told me twice that the wait time was 20 minutes. It would have been nice to know in advance that it wasn't worth sitting in my car. Also, they don't do reservations.I don't think I'll give this restaurant another try.

We absolutely loved our dinner last night. We brought friends who had never been to BD for dinner, but had heard lots about it. The evening did not disappoint! From Jen, greeting us kindly at the door, to Michael (the owner) popping by our table (and all tables) several times over the two hour dinner, our server Tawny, to our scrumptious cocktails.... I think we may have said “Mmmmmm” 20 times throughout our meal. We shared the pork dumplings—OMG. I would go back just for those. I had the fava bean Pasta dish—loved it. My friend, a vegetarian, chose the beet salad and a potato dish. She loved hers too. We shared one dessert between the four of us, sat and chatted for another 30 minutes and all left happy and satisfied. Try it. It may become your new favorite dinner spot! ✨✨

We got the smash burger and the fish and chips and the smash burger was one of the absolute best burgers we have had. The sauce on it truly makes the flavor and the meat was seasoned to perfection. A huge amount of fries with the burger too!

Simple and stunning citron tarte tasted just as good as it looks! Whipped labneh with the beets and apples was a lovely combination. Clam and lobster chowder was hearty and filling... The continuous renovations are amazing, but the food and people are what makes the Blue Door a one of a kind place to dine.

This used to be the best breakfast in Ohio, beating out places like Fox in the Snow in Columbus. But unfortunately they have sightly lost their edge over the last few years. We’ve always ordered their Avocado toast and whatever French toast or pancake special is available at the time. The avocado toast used to be unbelievable, then they changed the recipe making it too spicy with the chilli sauce. After having it again they seemed to change the recipe back to the old one, but it’s still not exact, better though. I had the honey comb pancakes, and usually the special is an over the top/fancy/sugary meal but it tasted pretty standard today. Sadly today blue door isn’t as special as it used to be, yet it is still very expensive. I must admit, it is still the best breakfast in Akron area.
