I ordered room service. I had the NY strip with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. The food arrived quickly and it was prepared perfectly. I like steak cooked medium rare and I got exactly what I ordered. The gentleman who delivered my meal was friendly and professional.

I heard beforehand that the food was good and I am not a picky eater at all but it wasn't very good. If it was a free breakfast I wouldn't complain, but for what we paid it was disappointing.

Not bad for a place to eat and do work while in the hotel. Service was friendly but not in a hurry. The wedge salad was so so but not really a wedge salad. The home made blue cheese dressing needs help.

We popped in at 1:14 for a late lunch and finally got the bill at 2:45. The gentleman working g seemed to be the only person manning the entire place after 2.The Reuben was good- certainly not fantastic. The shrimp was lukewarm- like it had been sitting around and not worth the $14 price tag for what we received. My son enjoyed the tenders and fries.The waiter was nice, we asked for more water and honestly could have had more - he was just too busy. We asked for the check a couple of times, but again he was just running trying to get food out.The atmosphere is nice and lively. Being there was an Ohio state game on and folks at the bar, they could have done with more employees.There are more places in Dayton that offer exceptional food for the same price, we were waiting on friends so wanted to dine close.I'll post breakfast considerations separately.All in all service was good, just not enough. Lunch food was okay, just not brought out timely. Tasteful, convenient, pleasant and attentive staff. Grabbed a drink on an extremely busy Thursday evening. There must have been some event and it was clear they were understaffed but it did not effect the service.Al tended bar with patient diligence, never compromising quality for rushing, and nothing took long. The house cocktails are original and delicious, and the food matches.It may seem like a run of the mill hotel establishment but don’t be fooled, they run this a cut above.

We had the very best experience enjoying Sunday brunch for a very large party in The Dewberry 1850 celebrating our son’s engagement over the weekend. Our server, Amy, went above and beyond with such grace and professionalism. She made sure everything was perfect from beginning to end. I liked that she made sure the waffles were coming fresh from the kitchen - smelling and tasting superb. Amy was in and out of dining room quickly while clearing. Our water carafes and juice area was consistently topped off…her timing was amazing! She was congenial with our guests and several commented how fantastic she was and made them feel. Ravs from our guests about the quality of the bacon and the omelet station, too! The Dewberry manager, Gerard Austin was accommodating and clearly setting the standard for his team. When I expressed concern about ample seating he had not only a doable and swift solution - he completed it in a manner that put me at ease immediately. By the time the guests arrived, I was poised to welcome and enjoy. He checked back with me during and when our brunch concluded. What a pleasure he was to meet! Really great burger and fries. Service was very friendly and attentive.Staying at the hotel and didn't have time to venture out. But from now on I'll eat here when I stay.
