Great food! On the pricier side but worth it.

Great place. Steak was cooked exactly as asked. Only thing I would have liked better was the steak to be served beside the mashed potatoes and not in the middle and on top of them.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. My filet was perfect medium rare, my daughter’s chicken with crispy skin and my wife’s risotto…and the meatballs were the best I’ve ever had…weird saying that about meatballs but true! The server was very helpful and even though it was her first day, she was great and added to a superb meal. This is the type of meal that makes you forget about and care less about the cost. The experience was worth it!

We had our anniversary this evening at Roost on a cold dreary day but the interior was so warm and inviting. We both got our cocktails & appitizer of the delicious Goat cheese spread came pretty quick and the server was so welcoming and knowledgeable of the menu.We had a pretty decent wait but it was all worth it once our entrees came because it was thr best meal we've had. The fresh tomato flavor of the Truffle ragu was refreshing and great depth of tomato. The "wedding" risotto was just the right amount of starchs with the kick of the meatballs... We ended our evening with dessert of dense decadent choclate cake and tart refrshing lemon sorbet... Complimentary Lemoncello was a nice touch for all star meal...

My wife and I recently went there on a date. It was super easy to do the reservation on google. We were seated right away. Wait staff was attentive and helpful. We ordered drinks and the risotto fritter to start. Interior of the fritter was smooth and creamy, I thought the exterior could have used more salt. It was good overall. For our mains my wife had the filet and I had the pork chop. Pork chop seared to perfection. Very tasty. I wasn’t wild about the palenta. Something about about the protein being served in the middle of a starch seems odd. My wife’s fillet same way. Cooked perfectly, but it was in the middle of a Yukon gold mash. I feel like the protein looses a little something when it’s served this way. Finally we had the chocolate cake. One of the best deserts I have ever had, we had some vanilla gelato on the side. Overall 4/5 it was great no complaints. I think I’m holding back one star because of HYPE, for the price I just expected a little more. Overall I would go again if invited by a friend or special occasion.

The caesar salad was the best part. Mine and my husbands medium well filet mignon was burnt and tasted like ground beef. Very unimpressed. Definitely not work the $150 we spent dining here.

Wow.. $120 and muscles lacked seasoning but felt bad to ask for salt. Table across from us asked for salt and pepper should have asked to borrow it. My friend had the risotto and we found the salt. Tasted like a salt lick. Brown butter parpadelle had no element to it but the butter. I could have made that at home and saved the money. Wine was good and service was great. A homeless person was asking us for money outside the restaurant and we didn't have cash. She got our leftovers

My partner and I went to celebrate Valentines early. We made a reservation in advance and had zero issues the entire experience.BUT YOURE HERE FOR THE DETAILS so lets lay them out.1) We immediately were seated with no wait thanks to the reservation2) Their setup is different than normal resturaunts in that the waitress brings you the menus not the person that seats you so getting the menus did take a second but that wasnt an issue for us.3) As a person with a gluten allergy/celiacs the online menu was more helpful than the in-person menu but the waitress was super helpful/kind.4) We got the fries/frittes - THE DILL KETCHUP IS THE BOMB, if you dont like truffles then you wont like the aoli. The fries are the small shoestring kind so they are super crunchy and not oily. You get a whole bucket of them which we demolished.5) I will preface saying Roost is not about BOLD flavors their style is more enhancing and pairing the natural flavor of things. This is not going to be like Sueno (high end bold latin). Their food is complex but natural italian inspired.6) My partner got the Veal and potatos and I got the chicken with GF raveoli.7) I tried his dish and it was AMAZING. Cooked perfectly, amazing natural flavors with complexity. The tiny onions were adorable and delish. 100% will come back for this dish alone.8) Initially the waitress forgot about my allergy so they had to redo my dish but she was so sweet about it. They redid my dish in less than 10 minutes which was shockingly quick. Chicken was moist but skin was crispy. The raveoli were slightly better than Aldi GF raviolis (my GF people will know this is a big deal) and the sauce was light but still flavorful. Plenty of sauce for everything.9) We thought the meal portions were good sized for the prices. Keep in mind portions are made for courses! If you dont get an app/salad or dessert you might not feel there is enough food. This is not the place you leave with leftovers.10) We did the Sorbetto and the Spumoni for dessert. Presentation for these were great. I LOVED the hallowed out lemon. The gelato was really good, again light flavors but a sweet/salty combo (strawberry, chocolate, pistachio with a salty dark/semi-sweet shell and a sweeter chocolate sauce) BUT we should have asked for a knife and fork because the ball kept rolling all over while trying to eat it.11) We didnt do drinks because we went to Century Bar after12) Only minor stuff that is not Roosts fault is the parking -Oregon district parking sucksOverall meal was $115 ish including tip (1 app, 2 entres, 2 desserts). We left full and satisfied and felt we got really good food/service. I had no symptoms after eating everything. We read the negative reviews before going and felt they were likely due to impatience (good food takes time and this isant fast food), and people not realizing the type of food/flavors Roost is offering.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendlyParking: Oregon district parking is always bad

One of the top restaurants in Dayton! We eat here once a month and every time it is 10/10. It is a travesty this restaurant is not at 5 stars on google. Run don’t walk to the Roost. Favorite items- arancini, mussels, filet, pork chops, affogato, ricotta donuts and espresso martini- honestly everything is chefs kiss!

8.5 outta 10 hands down. The best streak i have ever had. Mushrooms just melt in your mouth. Alcohol beverages were amazing. Only complaint ordered a drink that never arrived. Some of the interior is different but tue food definitely makes up for it. Hands down will come back in the future. Compliments to the chef for an amazing menu.

Steak was as red as a stop sign although I ordered it as medium. Stray hair was found on the tables. They also treated my husband horribly after he purchased a gift card. Save yourself some headache and go
