I ordered Lomo Saltado (stir fry beef) hardly any beef mostly fries and rice was undercooked. I feel it was overpriced. Left half of my food. My son had pork churrasco and he really liked it.

Our dining experience(s) at this true gem were extraordinary! We think of Salar now as a destination restaurant. We live in western Pennsylvania and visited Dayton over Easter weekend to see the art institute and other unique historic treasures. One of us found Salar during a previous trip and had to share. The braised lamb shank is among the most delicious meals I've ever been so professionally served. We returned the next evening for the incomparable pork chops. (Thank you Antonio and Cassie for taking such great care of us!)Thank you to everyone at Salar for making our weekend so much more memorable.

Travel 1 hour and a half to get the truth the attention very good and the cocktails very good the lomo saltado would give you 10 out of 10 but the ceviche and the rice with seafood really was not what I expected I think they have to improve a little more in that especially in the rice with seafood

A really nice high end restaurant. We were treated like royalty every step of the way. And that's saying a lot considering our appearance. Food was awesome as was the wait staff. Highly recommend if you want that something special and don't mind paying a little extra.

Salar is an upscale-casual restaurant that would be right at home in any trendy restaurant-row anywhere. Clean, well lit, airy, a neat cascading water wall plus spacious bar provides an interesting atmosphere.Recommend ordering the empanadas- the beef and seafood were excellent. The roasted short ribs and lomo saltado beef entrees were delicious and just the right portion size.

On the menu’s special tonight they had ,Beef tips with vegetables, red wine sauce, with torched mash potatoes on top . After we received our meal it was nothing more than a Shepard’s pie with little vegetables and setting in grease . , was nothing more Thea potatoes on top . I asked the waitress where were the beef tips were ? She shrugged her hands and said she didn’t know . Then she came back and said the tips are ground up .I said I’m sorry it’s nothing more than hamburger . She argued with me , and I explained why would you advertise beef tips ? We had two drinks two salads and two greasy shepherds some what pie 126.00 . No thanks !

Food was top notch, the lamb shank was well seasoned and fall off the bone tender. The scallops were seared perfectly as were the shrimp. Service was prompt and our waitress brought drinks without asking or ever running out. We will be back.

TLDR - If you go for Happy Hour, you must, apparently, sit at the bar *** insert eye roll ***. Food was bomb, drinks were good.Longer review -Service 4/5: My family and I went on a week night during early spring, one of those rare March, beautiful 70 degree days and sat on the patio. We were originally seated inside, but my mother (whom made the reservation) previously requested an outdoor seat. They happily accommodated and gave us a 4 top outside. We were super pumped for the Happy Hour menu as we arrived an hour prior to Happy Hour (HH) ending. We requested the HH menu from the waitress, but she told us "I don't have a button for that", multiple times. After asking for clarification, she said that it ONLY applied to the bar seating. Are you kidding me?This may be a personal feeling, but this is stupid and not customer friendly. Come on... Why can't I get Happy Hour pricing while we're sitting outside? Instead of offering to go to the bar and getting our drinks, as expected for the price we're paying, she only continued to state "I don't have a button for that". We get it, but this was a TOTAL vibe kill and reason I knocked this down to a 4-star. What happened to the customer is right? We weren't being difficult or picky, just requested HH pricing as SHOULD be expected.Food 5/5: I ordered the pork chop dinner. This was cooked to perfection; this was the moistest pork chop I've ever had. Absolutely delicious! Three days later when I nuked the leftovers, the pork chop held up and was STILL delicious as 4 days earlier. My partner had the short rib. Again, this was cooked to perfection. The rib was fork-tender. He didn't care for the sweet sauce on top, but I thought it was delicious. It was maraschino cherry flavored. My dad had the artichoke fettuccine. While the flavor was good, he said that it definitely needed more sauce. It did appear a bit dry.My mom had the salmon and had zero complaints.Atmosphere 5/5: Super clean bathrooms, beautiful patio! Come on a weekend night when the street is closed down for pedestrian traffic.
