Was in Defiance last weekend with friends. We were looking for a place to have lunch and I had seen on the Valentine Theater site that Ensign’s was where Maag’s used to be and they had a lot of the same menu. Went there years ago, before 1980, and was pleasantly surprised with the lunch. Had the roast beef, knockers, chips & draft beer. Everything was great and the prices are very reasonable. We all had a good time and my friends were happy that I suggested going here. Keep up the good work!

My first visit to Defiance since COVID and I was delighted to find out Ensign's still open and still holding true to the original Maag's menu. If it ain't broke, don't fix it ?

The daily chili is good! The place has a nice laid back feel with a sports vibe. And the owner let me plug in my phone to charge during dinner. What's not to love!!

I like this place. Very laid-back, pub environment. I tried their hot beef sandwich with pepper jack cheese and some of their homemade hot mustard. It was awesome. Prices for both food and drink are very conservative. If you've not been here before, they are worth a try. #OnlyTheGoodStuff

The thick sliced fried bologna sandwiches are awesome!!! The only place I know of around defiance that has thick sliced fried bologna sandwiches on the menu ..they are excellent!!!! And the staff is great & it's just a all around fun place to share a couple drinks with friends @ . .and 2 brab a awesome excellent thick sliced bologna sandwich!!!! Highly recommended!!! Just a casual laid back chill put n relax atmosphere!!!!! The hot beef sandwiches and the polish sausage sandwiches and the hot dogs with brown mustard r really yummy also!!!
