We celebrated our wedding at Darby House in September 2023, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The venue itself is stunning, and Nicole was so patient with all of our questions and requests, ensuring that our day ran smoothly. The grounds provided so many beautiful backdrops for our photos, and the ambiance, service, food (courtesy of Berwick), and sparkler send-off were some of the highlights of our big day!For couples considering the venue, here are a few points to keep in mind without overshadowing the positive experience:Although the newly renovated bridal suites are gorgeous, the full-day rental starting at noon will likely not provide enough time for larger bridal parties to complete hair and makeup on-site. Having earlier access to the bridal suite could make the day-of experience even more seamless.Additionally, there is a requirement to serve liquor with a mixer, limiting cocktail options such as Manhattans and Martinis. While this might not be a concern for everyone, it's something to keep in mind if you have specific preferences for your wedding beverages.Another consideration is reliable transportation, as there is spotty cell reception for ridesharing apps. If you plan on arranging buses for transportation, be aware that they must be on the smaller side (~20-30 passenger) to navigate the driveway, adding a small extra planning step.Despite these considerations, the uniqueness of the venue and the exceptional service from the Darby House team make it worth every moment. Beautiful location for weddings! I loved how there were sepearate spaces for the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. When dinner was being served the ceremony room transformed into the dance floor and let me tell you a time was had by all! There are fire pits outside which was fun to sit around as well. Beautiful location and the photos are even more stunning! Only complaint is they did run out of food the wedding we attended.

Three months after securing the venue, my friend from high school ended up landing a job there as their Operations & Events Manager and by the grace of God, we were given her as our day-of coordinator. They say "day of", but Alissa went over and beyond for us for months prior, and I know it wasn't only because she knew me beforehand; that's just who she is and how she operates, which I really respect. Alissa's manager, Nicole, always stepped in when/if she needed to. Needless to say, we never felt alone at any time in this process and it took so much weight off of my husband and I's shoulders. Darby House was extremely accommodating and flexible on all platforms, all while still remaining true to who they are as a company (there's clearly still rules you have to follow haha). The day ran so smoothly; I was honestly so impressed with all the help setting up when I walked in at 11am to get ready. Truly blown away by how much they all CARE and it's not even their own day. There were so many little requests from myself leading up to the day, and even day of, that were always answered/handled like a boss. I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and God puts people/situations in your life for one reason or another, as well. With that being said, finding Darby House on TheKnot (I was not a normal bride - I disliked searching for venues and basically disliked all wedding planning haha) was a gift from God. He knew I would (my family and husbands family, as well) be in good hands. Boy, was he spot on! I was very up front with Alissa about my "vision" (no vision) and was so unsure how to go about any type of planning. She was so transparent, honest and helpful - I really couldn't have done it without her personal and professional advice. Almost two weeks later and my guests won't stop raving about how Darby House was the most beautiful venue they've ever seen and/or have gone to. The most frequent wording that described Darby was "magical". I'd have to say, I agree. I was speechless!!! Everyone was so lovely and I can't speak more highly of Darby House and their employees. Shout out to Alissa Chenetski and Nicole McCrate for being the absolute best, at all times. Ya'll are the true MVP's and from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!!! Darby House was hands down the BEST vendor decision I made throughout my entire wedding planning process. Not only is the venue gorgeous, but the staff is also incredible. Nicole was always prompt to answer my never-ending stream of questions via email. On my wedding day, she was very organized and made sure everything ran smoothly. It brought me peace of mind knowing that both the indoor and outdoor ceremony sites would be beautiful, so I didn't need to stress about weather. Plus there are endless scenic photo locations on site! Darby House's wedding planning tools were also incredible. They make sure you think about every last necessary detail. Not to mention they have a very helpful blog, too! I can't recommend Darby House enough. I am over the moon with the services provided.

We could not have made a better decision for our wedding day than selecting Darby House as our venue! The venue is beautiful, unique, and full of character. The team there is so passionate and wonderful to work with. Katarina was our coordinator and she was incredible to work with during the planning process, accommodating as much as she could to our vision for the day, providing helpful suggestions, and even offered to make a sign for us for our ice cream cart. On our wedding day, we had to make a last second move to inside for a storm (thank goodness we did as it POURED), and Katarina and the team handled this seamlessly - not to mention the inside reception space is gorgeous. This also threw some wrinkles into our timeline for the rest of the evening, but we didn’t notice a thing. The Darby House team helped take the stress out of our hands, which helped us enjoy the day even more. And we honestly can’t say enough about the venue and property - we would have took pictures for hours if we could just to hit all the incredible and unique photo spots. And the amount of people who complimented the venue space, or said “this is so cool”, or “the drive into here is so pretty” was cool to hear. If you’ve skipped everything above, just know that you can’t make a better decision than Darby House for your wedding day.

I don't even know where to began with this review. First off, this venue is absolutely stunning and by far was the best all around venue in Columbus. The staff exceeded my expectations and truly made our wedding day everything we dreamed it would be. Alexa, our coordinator, was amazing and very detail oriented. She was able to answer all of my questions in a timely manner and work with us on our budget and help us with everything we wanted for our wedding day. Nicole was also amazing to work with and very helpful and detailed. The staff treats you like family and was able to help us with anything we needed on wedding day and allow everything to flow smoothly. Our guests all commented on how beautiful our venue was. Sure, it is a little pricey but in the end it was truly worth it for us as we couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. I highly recommend this venue. Be sure to reach out and book early!

The site is literally made for weddings—we had plenty of space for our wedding party to get ready, ample room for dinner and dancing, and every photo location around the event space was mind blowingly beautiful.
