Had considered this place a 'real find' after moving to the area a year ago. Great prices, wonderful onion rings, and good meatloaf. Staff always courteous, any delays in service easily explained by how busy the bar gets. All in all, very good. Recently, however, another customer, clearly a regular, and I had a heated exchange over his loud talking. First he started in on teachers and schools and then he moved to how the U.S. is falling apart--essentially mouthing his bullshit so that he was impossible to ignore. At one point he told me 'your kind' aren't welcome here. I will never forget that. Just hope that if you plan to eat here, you are the 'right kind.'

Didn't eat - got our own drinks. It's a nice and cozy neighborhood bar.

As long as you know what you're there for, you're going to love this place. Friendly and casual service, cheap but delicious food, and a nice local bar with character! Great place to have a beer and get lunch at a fair price! Chicken Philly was phenomenal!

Used to love coming to this place way back in the day but it's changed. Definitely not as "friendly" as they claim to be.

Great dive bar vibe with really homey inexpensive food. Great burgers and wings, but I go for the meatloaf or the open faced hot turkey

Stopped in for the first time last Thursday around 2:30 PM for a late lunch. At first I thought I walked into a gay bar, because everyone was drinking that LGBLT type beer called Bud. But now I think not, no one hit on me. Waitress was timely, polite and helpful. I had a draft Miller Lite beer, it was very cold and refreshing. The wife had ice water and the ice was fine, no problem. I had the Ruben and it was excellent, real rye bread, toasted perfectly, good sour kraut, but should have a little more corn beef. Wife had an American cheeseburger she said it was very good and we shared a side of onion rings which very outstanding. We enjoyed the bars character and ambience via the vintage license plated. We would highly recommend this establishment if you're looking for quality home cooked food.

Parking: There are several spots on the street and a small lot behind the bar and grill.

I have been to the Friendly Stop before and from what I remember it was pretty tasty and the service was good. First, place is small so I kept that in mind when we came in with four adults and three kids. It's for sure a local spot. When we got there they were pretty busy there was one table left and we were able to sit there. We sat down and about a few minutes later our server came over to us to take our drink order. Several minutes later she came back to us without our drinks and said she is running ten minutes behind so she will be with us shortly, about twenty minutes later we got our drinks. We ordered shortly after that and we waited an additional probably 40 minutes for our food. When we did get our food it was hot, it was good and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Maybe it was a bad day for service. I would visit again. However, I wouldn't wait if the same situation occurred again.
