Cool place with good service, but I was very let down by the nashville hot tenders. I struggled to find any semblance of seasoning or flavor in the sauce. It wasn’t a mistake, there was definitely something on it! It just didn’t taste like anything and I’m not sick. I also had to wait like 30+ minutes. +1 star for the fries and some real good pickles. Based on other reviews this seems to not be the usual standard of nashville tenders served here. It’s just got me wondering, what the hell happened here? I’ll probably come back for the venice cafe bar though.Edit: Considering the extremely quick response from the owner, their kindness, and explaination I’ll bump it to 3 stars. I’m looking forward to coming back and hopefully giving 5 stars next time!

I love this Southern-style.seafood restaurant located inside the Venice Cafe, a landmark spot in downtown Kent. It's has yellowed murals of Venice, wooden boots with names carved in them, neon lights, a very cool old-school bar. I've been here numerous times. My very favorite thing is the shrimp dinner (which I order blackened), a generous portion of medium sized fresh shrimp, accompanied by hush puppies, tater tots, coleslaw and shrimp sauce. It's 20 bucks, totally worth it and makes me very happy. They also have lobster bisque, gumbo, jambalaya and some stellar appetizers. On my last visit, a friend ordered the lobster roll which had the most generous heaping portion of lobster meat I have ever seen, with melted butter provided. Erie Street has a good beer list. The place has a nice old-school vibe. Whenever I go to Kent I want to stop here!

Service was so slow we had to ask for our food to go. They never refilled our water during the hour we waited for food, or told us it would be a long wait. Furthermore, my chicken and waffles was terrible? The waffle just a previously frozen, deep fried, oily chunk. What I mean is it tasted like old oil, not a waffle. The chicken was fine, but the meal overall was not worth $15 and an hour long wait sitting in a booth.

It took an extremely long time for our food to come and it did not help that the staff basically ignored us the entire time. We ended up being served by someone who was not even our server only because we pulled him aside after our server disappeared (he was great). We waited almost an hour for our food that was really just mid. No communication at all, we only heard information when we asked for it. I’m normally not that critical of restaurants because I’ve worked in restaurants before, but this was just a ridiculous experience, and we payed full price for the food.

They have good food but they have cancelled our orders twice now without explanation. The food is good but it's not worth the time to be told we cant get our food after accepting our orders and having to find a different place after an hour.Edit: I appreciate you reaching out. We ordered elsewhere now but I understand how door dash can be. If it was truly them I can understand. we love your food and hope to try another time.

My wife and I drove 55 minutes to this restaurant. We heard about it in a Gluten free group. She had the Gluten free Oyster platter, I had the Oyster PoBoy. They bother were amazing. I know it was a seasonal menu, but I was impressed with the PoBoy. Most places put a powerful sauce that overpowered the taste of the main ingredient. This was poetic, and the artists have me begging for more. Bravo!!Dietary restrictions: Great for gluten free!Parking: Well it's downtown Kent.Kid-friendliness: Well it's a bar, and has pool tables. If you don't mind that then it's fine.

There were six of us for dinner and three of the meals were incorrect. A vegetarian meal was ordered but a full meat meal was served. One of our party ordered a non-alcoholic drink and was served an alcoholic drink instead. When the errors in the meals were brought to the server’s attention, no correction or reduction in the check was offered. Although the staff were friendly, the service was horrible.

Service was wonderful, everyone was very nice. It's a dive bar location, very college atmosphere. Food was good, lobster roll was okay, the lobster was terribly chewy. Of course not expecting the best quality in Ohio but probably would try something else on the menu next time. Again, great service and will be back again to try something different.

I truly cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Enjoyed the deviled eggs, jambalaya, and fried chicken tenders. The jambalaya was excellent. I requested not to make it spicy and it came out perfectly. I've had a great experience every time I've come here.

Erie Street Kitchen is the very best. Consistently wonderful. a great menu, and they do a lot of specials. Owner/Chef Jeff Crowe is a very cool guy. Knows his stuff.
