We got to go bagels from the establishment a few weeks ago and we’re really disappointed with how dirty the restaurant was. The bathroom was completely disgusting. And it wasn’t busy, but our bagels got left at the prep table and all three of the workers there just kept looking at us, confused as to why we were there. No one asked if we needed anything for about 10 minutes finally I moved spots and made eye contact for the third time with someone and they finally came over and asked what we needed and I told them, we ordered and paid for bagels and never received for them and he looked very annoyed and apologetic whatsoever. I’m a local who has enjoyed Barry’s Bagels for a long time but that location does not align with any of the other locations I’ve been to. I also posted something on Facebook messenger to share my experience because I wanted to speak with somebody on the phone but it seems to have gone on addressed and unread so I’m posting it here

It was lunchtime on a Thursday.Surely that’s an oversight, you should probably talk to whoever runs the ordering system, you’re literally losing money (mine).Edit: the above is the unedited original comment. But I would like to add that online ordering is a convenience that you advertise. I shouldn’t have to explain why I can or can’t make a phone call to solve your ordering system shortcomings. I went elsewhere and now I’m glad I did. ?Based on your comments on here in the past, you enjoy shifting the blame to the customer. Find a new tagline. “Should have called us” isn”t a very good one.

This Barry Bagel not what it used to be. Dirty inside, floors filthy with food all over. They seemed staffed well? Pop all over counter by register where you pay. I couldn't set anything down because it would have been soaked in pop. I used to love coming here.
The owner responded so weird to my review I'll never give one dollar to this company again they clearly DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS..... What a weirdo to insult me by saying due to my other reviews... you are DISGUSTING!!! The Berry Bagel store I visited as a kid on Glendale and Byrne was lovely. Clean your stores up secor is filthy and unorganized. Secor, Lambertville and maumee have the worst customer service! Your response is uncalled for and rude! ORIGINAL REVIEW - I hate the new plastic wrapper and then my bagel doesn't come in a bag? Seems super cheap. Overall Barry bagels has gone extremely down hill since I was a kid. Quality of product to service used to be 100 stars, to be honest. (It's not just this location it's all of them poor service, stores are dirty and your bagels are just ok now when they used to be the best! Please do better everywhere. I want to keep giving you my business but this consistency of bad experiences is just disappointing) and oh yeah bring the paper back lol it's a good start.

I have been going here for years and it was the best place to eat at for the longest time. Now unfortunately the food is always burnt or made really bad. Or the coffee is ice cold and it’s 7am. I just don’t understand the attitude either when I’m just asking for hot coffee. I will never be returning not worth it.

Absolutely disgusting, the countertop was about as filthy as I've ever seen one. Cross contamination. But that's what you get when you have a bunch of kids running a place with no adult supervision. Ordered two salt bagels with cream cheese. Pretty simple order you would think. Watched as the kid made the order look like everything was fine. Get home and take a bite of my bagel and it tastes like something other than what I ordered. Like a pickle mixture with something. Smells like a mix of tomato and pickle juice or something, but it's saturated into the bagel. I did ask for toasted. I'm not sure this was toasted. Normally. It's very crispy and I did after being disgruntled at whatever juice. This was laid in on the counter. Scraped back the thin layer of cream cheese and it does not look like this was toasted. I thought that the first bite was very tough and chewy for being toasted. I would be willing to bet instead of wiping down the countertop before he sat my bagel down to put cream cheese on it. He laid my bagel in the mess that was on the counter. I thought that's what it looked like when he was making it as I was paying. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Wow! Do better. Barry bagels do better. Very disappointed. Will not be back to this restaurant ever again unless this gets fixed. Used to be one of my favorite spots. Honestly maybe a call to the health dept would help in this case before someone gets sick from the lack of cleanliness. Oh and it's not that busy inside and they had about 6 to 8 employees working. No excuse.

Food is OK at best. Nothing especially exciting. Staff is generally nice, but seems disorganized, somewhat distracted and without enough work for everyone to do. There seems to be no leadership or supervision in play. Last time I was there the guy putting together my sandwich didn't seem to know where anything was and walked away for several extended periods to find ingredients. Then the cashier was actually laying across the cash register and I had to ask her to ring me out... (Do they have a liquor license I wonder?) I'll probably go back but I always feel like I'm disturbing the workers who would rather be doing something else.
