I moved back from the west side of Cleveland to Painesville over a year ago and hadn't found a good Chinese place until someone recommended Hunan lake. I'm glad they did because this is now my favorite local takeaway.

Mediocre at best. I ordered the Schezwan chicken and a quart of won ton soup. Both were very bland with almost no taste. The fried rice isn't really fried rice and there was so much liquid in my meal it could have been soup. This was my first time coming here and I will not be back. I ordered the dinner portion to have leftovers later but this food was so disappointing after a few bites, I won't finish it. So I just spent $22 on something I won't eat. I would definitely recommend skipping this place if you're thinking about coming here.

Consistent Chinese take out, fair prices and quick service. I love their hot and sour soup!
We order from Hunan Lake 2-3 times a month. Our food is always ready fast, even with a custom order because of an allergy. Always delicious for lunch or dinner. Friendly staff always greets with a smile!

I don’t like the food. The chicken and broccoli doesn’t have that usual thick sauce. The flavor on everything is just a little off compared to most Chinese.
