~It was Monday Oct 30,2023 around 1055am my grandson and I were headed to my mom and dad's so we thought we'd swing through the KFC on W. Main St. to pick up a couple items so I get to the drive-through and I'm sitting there nobody's coming so I thought well maybe they don't open until 11am so I looked online and it actually said they should be open already so I called just to check and the person who answered the phone was rude from the start. I just asked her if they were open and in a hateful voice she said "NO we will open later" so I was thinking "what" So I asked "What time later"? we are short on people so we're not open. OK so how am I supposed to know they're not open? why can't she come to the drive-through and kindly tell me "I am sorry we're not open today because we don't have enough people to work or maybe put a sign out on the drive-through saying we are temporary closed but no she answers the phone hateful and is mean and nasty on the phone to me. How am I supposed to know so I thought well I'm gonna call the Lee's up on 21st St. to see if they were open so they answered the phone nicely and yes they were open so I told them about my experience with West Main Street and she kept apologizing saying they're short but you know what that doesn't give that person any right to treat me like that on the phone. I'm sorry, but some of these restaurants around town are getting awful. You never know when somewhere is going to be closed due to not having enough people to work for them, but it still does not give anybody the right to treat people unkindly. The people at Lee's on 21st St. were very nice & kind.

I've lived in Newark for 14 years and I've never had an issue with them messing up my order, unlike McDonald's on Union Street. So with that being said I recommend this KFC.Wheelchair accessibility: They've got wheelchair ramps on both entrances to the building.
