Tried to be seated on 10 /25 /24 at 6 pm. After waiting 15 min, was told they were too busy and told to come back later. Did not dine there that evening. On 10/26/24 did get seated easily for breakfast. Was disappointed in our meal. Unseasoned and bland. The best thing was our toast.

Breakfast. My oatmeal tasted like cardboard. Tried using some of the brown sugar that came with it but it was as hard as a rock. My husband had a fruit cup and bit into a Kalamata olive thinking it was a purple grape! That was a shock! They gave us a modest discount. (The OJ was the best part of our breakfast) Will never go back!

Our entire family HIGHLY RECOMMENDS Water's Edge Restaurant, especially if you are hosting a group. The management went out of their way to make sure we had a place that would accommodate our celebration and the restaurant even wanted to make sure attendees could handle two steps up to a special "loft" area. This section is fantastic for more private dining, yet all tables offer diners a waterfront view. Most importantly, our family...which includes some "fussy" eaters - all LOVED their meals. The preparations and presentations at Water's Edge are excellent. Many of us ordered walleye and my husband, who is a chef here in SC, insists that whenever we are anywhere near Toledo, we are stopping to enjoy it again. Salads and appetizers are huge and shareable. Several staff members were instrumental in making our mom's birthday celebration extra-special. We are grateful to the entire team, especially our server, Kyla, who handled our complex food & beverage requests with finesse - as well as Kim, Tina, & Todd. We will definitely return.

I had a bit of a challenging experience during my visit. I arrived for breakfast and waited around 10 minutes before being seated. Once I was sat, I noticed other guests roaming around waiting for a hostess as well. While I found the food to be somewhat overpriced for the portion sizes, it was decent. Since I was staying on the property, I thought I would give the restaurant another chance.

I ordered the mixed berry salad with grilled chicken and a side of fries, which came out to just over $21. The fries were okay, though not particularly the best.

Unfortunately, the chicken in the salad appeared to be still frozen. I was informed that this is how the chicken is typically served, but it had a rubbery texture and lacked flavor, so I opted to set it aside. Additionally, I found a whole head of lettuce (that seemed less than fresh) in my salad, which was disappointing.

Overall, my experience at Water’s Edge left much to be desired, and I would hesitate to recommend it for breakfast or lunch. I don’t think I have it in me to try again for dinner.

We went for breakfast on a Tuesday morning, it wasn't busy, but it took several minutes to get seated. Once we made it to a table we sat there for 40 minutes without even having a drink order taken. Most of the people at neighboring tables were in the same boat, though I saw one person get coffee and an apology about being understaffed. We had hungry kiddos so we finally just left. I can't say anything about the quality of the food but the menu was a bit overpriced.

I came to eat at the restaurant for breakfast. It wasn't overly busy but there were a few tables with other patrons. The host was pretty slow at sitting people and then it was almost five minutes or more before a waitress came over. I ordered coffee, wish they had flavored creamer but did not get any spoon to stir my coffee until I asked for one. When I ordered the Water's Edge which comes with two eggs off my choice, bacon or sausage, hash browns and toast. I ordered fried hard eggs, and a pancake on the side. She did not ask what kind of meat I wanted and I honestly forgot about it when placing my order. It took a little longer than I would think but it wasn't terrible wait. During my wait, she didn't come back to refill my coffee until my food came and then I had to ask for a refill. When my food came, I was given scrambled eggs, which ok I'm ok with those too but not what I asked for. They weren't very hot, warm to say the best. I then realized I had no ketchup, did not get my sausage because hey it wasn't ordered, dry toast with no butter or jelly. The pancake did not have butter either. So I had to stop another waitress to ask for my waitress because I didn't know how long it would be before I saw her again. When my waitress came back she brought me my sausage which again was hardly warm. I did get my jelly and ketchup but no butter. The food was just okay. Nothing to rave about.
My view was absolutely beautiful while I ate so that was a plus but the overall food and the attention to the small detail needs a little help. As a previous waitress I have a hard time when I have to ask for everything when some of it should be offered or just brought to the table automatically.

My dining experience at this restaurant left much to be desired. From start to finish, it was a cascade of disappointments. The mishap with the child's drink falling and still being served set an unfortunate tone. The dirty cups and cold hashbrowns didn't help matters either. When my omelet arrived with mushrooms instead of sausage, it was just another letdown. And the confusion over what type of salmon was in the Benedict dish was baffling. To top it off, something unidentifiable floating in the water pitcher was the last straw. The dirty high chairs and the state of the carpet only added to the lackluster ambiance. It's worth mentioning that this was a hotel restaurant, which may explain some of the issues, but overall, it was a dining experience to forget.

Visited Water’s Edge restaurant for the first time today. The facilities are very nice and the service was truly excellent. We had the pub pretzels as an appetizer. Between the four of us, we each had a different entree: Cod sandwich, salmon club sandwich, the Berry Salad and the grilled chicken sandwich. Having an opportunity to get a bite of each, I would say that the cod and salmon club sandwiches were both very good. The berry salad was okay, but the chicken in it was a little bland. The grilled chicken sandwich had great bread and fresh tomato and lettuce, but the chicken was very thin, somewhat dry and had little flavor. I can also say that the onion rings and fries were good.Overall, this is a pretty decent meal in a nice facility. I would give it a go when visiting the area. Just stay away from the chicken.

Food was relatively good, some items were cold but I'm guessing that's because the service was horrible. Our server was slow and not really friendly at all. We could tell she was pretty stressed, but there were tons of empty tables. I worked in bars for almost 10 years so I try to give grace, but it was pretty bad. Not even 3 minutes after placing our order, she brought us our bill so we would have it, but then never came back to ask about wine or beer refills. Wouldn't return.

French fries are good. Hamburger had way to much seasoning on it made it impossible to taste the burger.

We were pleasantly surprised. The menu is fairly basic. Not exotic. But really well prepared with good ingredients. The staff was extremely helpful. It sounds funny to recommend a burger and fries. But the burger was great and the fries outstanding!

My wife and I had the Easter Buffet here. We looked on line to see menus of what all the state park lodges were having for their Easter menus. We chose to eat here. I am a picky eater and they were having 2 meat dishes (roast beef and Cajun rubbed chicken)mashed potatoes and corn with basil. We chose this lodge because of the menu as pictured below. We get there they don't have half of what was on the menu. No chicken no Kelbosa and pieogies. No mashed pototoes. It felt like a bait and switch. They had boiled new potatoes and roast beef that I would eat. I brought it to my servers attention but no one cared.$36 for 2 slices of roast beef and some potates. very disapointing.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Waters Edge in Maumee Bay State Park Lodge Centre for two days, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with friendly smiles and a warm atmosphere.

During our first day, we decided to have lunch at Waters Edge and it exceeded all expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the genuine care the staff showed towards their guests. The prices were reasonable and definitely worth it for the quality of the food and service.

The following day, we indulged in the breakfast buffet, and it was a true delight. The wide selection of fruits, pancakes, and comfort food catered to all tastes, even the pickiest eaters in our group were satisfied. Not to mention, the breathtaking view from Waters Edge made our dining experience even more memorable.

I highly recommend Waters Edge for both off-season visits and hotter days. It offers a fantastic escape from the cold weather, providing something fun to do while enjoying a magnificent meal. The combination of great food, excellent service, and a beautiful setting make Waters Edge a must-visit destination. I can't wait to return and create more unforgettable memories. Thank you, Waters Edge, for an incredible experience
