The cost was almost identical to that of a dine-in restaurant with table service. “Place was packed. Parking awful. Being handicapped I had to walk way too far to enter. Very loud and noisy. Had a big group and had to shout to one another. My BLT was tasty. Service slow but the waitress was running around like crazy. Definitely needed more help. Have been here before and was much better the other times. Won't be bringing our group back here.“
“I’ve been visiting for years and this restaurant has only improved with time! Plenty of seating, friendly staff and servers, bright dining area all add to an enjoyable meal. The food has been consistently great. We brought a friend here from Germany to have him sample our great city’s gastronomic delights….. (besides deep dish pizza and Chicago style hot dogs). We had corned beef sandwiches, potato pancakes, kreplach soup and matzo balls. Everything was delicious and he was blown away by the huge sandwich in taste and size. The rye bread is always fresh and the corned beef thin and warm. The owner even stopped by to greet us…. Our friend was impressed by the whole experience. We definitely will return!“

I bit into the polish boy I ordered and it rivaled Kim's. And the loaded tots I got could have been a meal by themselvesby themselves with the portion size and heartiness of toppings (peppers, mushroom, chicken, chipotle sauce, sour cream). I don't think I can have my tots any other way now, they were so nice! And, AND, the owner and his son where extremely personable, pleasant, kind folks. I have nothing but good things to say about this place ❤All in all I ordered two drinks, a smash burger (brisket y'all! ?), a polish boy, loaded tater tots, and a beef hot dog, all for $30. I had a vegan dog with marinated mushrooms, caramelized onion, garlic escarole, Italian giardineira, and roasted garlic aioli. It was AMAZING. Also had some fresh cut fries which were great. “The food was hot and ready and delicious within a reasonable time. The service was great Jillian and another girl took care of me. They were very inviting. The only problem was a guy was giving them a hard time, but they stay calm cool and collected. And continue to serve as nothing was bothering them. I believe the other girl name was Jen. “So simple but so good. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful brat on a great simple roll with brown mustard, and for only $4, you can't beat it. Love the west side market and all their stands and this place is one of the best, they are very nice and super quick to make your food, and it's great how you can walk right outside and sit on a bench to eat. You can get a hard or soft roll with mustard, ketchup, or sauerkraut. Love how they perfected one simple food to sell, and they perfected it, definitely will be back!“
“They only take cash, but the $2.50 grilled cheese is GREAT. You can also get a chili cheese dog for $2.75. They are located in the historic West Side Market in the south west corner right on Lorain Avenue. You have to walk away from the main part of the market to get to Johnny’s.“

“I recently went here for a business lunch with my colleague, Tom. He wanted a double cheeseburger with no patties due to his dietary restrictions, but the cashier recommended he get a grilled cheese instead. He found that to be delicious. I had a little bacon cheeseburger with pickles, onions, mustard and ketchup. We shared a small fry due to Five Guys serving mass quantities of fries. The food was excellent! My fountain Coke Zero was also very good.“
