Rating this business 1 star due to poor communication, or lack of. He made a cake for me a few years ago I wanted to use him again because I was extremely happy with the outcome. I reached out to him a few days ago for an estimate and I told him I would call him back once I made a decision. A couple of days later I called him back to let him know I wanted to proceed and he told me he would have to check and see if he was still going to be able to proceed with my order bc he had taken on new orders. Said he would call me back and I have not heard back from him at all. I texted him as well and messaged him and called multiple times so it would be easier for him to respond to me. I understand he is busy but it’s pretty unprofessional to I just simply ignore and choose not to answer back, even if he has told me he wasn’t able to do it I would have been fine with and understood. But simply ignoring is very unprofessional. I hope he doesn’t do this to anyone else waiting on a response back from him.

It's tough to find a cake that can deliver on icing, filling, topping and the cake itself but this is the whole package. Strawberry crunch is our favorite but we have tested the cupcakes and we couldn't be more excited to get the rest. Friendly service, humble baker, truly brilliant!

The only thing as delightful as the confections made here is Homero, the baker himself. The sweets are creative, and unlike a lot of other bakeries, they look beautiful AND taste delicious. My sister and I stop by whenever we're in town, and every time we find something new and interesting to try. Do yourself a favor and try a raspberry key lime cupcake if he has them.

I absolutely love this place, every time I go in I'm greeted nicely and told what they have, every cupcake I have ate so far has been absolutely delicious ? there is none that I have not liked. My kids absolutely love the strawberry cupcakes and cherry limeade. My personal favorite so far is the cherry limeade as well as cinnamon roll if you haven't tried this place out it's a must. Cupcakes are delicious and cake pops. And the service can't be beat!!

Homero always comes through with amazing cakes! Four years ago, he made my husband's and my wedding cake. It was lemon blueberry, and beautifully decorated with rosettes.This past weekend, we asked him to make a birthday cake for my sister-in-law. She loves German chocolate cake and chocolate cake with buttercream, and he combined the two into an absolutely decadent cake.He's a flavor wizard, and his cakes never disappoint.

I was trying to find a bakery that could recreate a cake that I found from the internet for my husband’s 40th birthday. After asking a few other bakeries I stumbled across Homero’s Sweet Specialty Shoppe. As soon as I showed him the picture, his face lit up and he said “Yes, I can do that”. I knew I was at the right spot! This cake was AMAZING! Not only did it look perfect, it was so good. We got so many compliments on this cake at the party. We also just ordered my daughter’s birthday cake from there and again he did not disappoint!! I will always get my cakes from Sweet Designs Specialty Shoppe as long as we live in the Columbus area!

The customer service is wonderful and they were so helpful in helping us to make a decision. ! We had a special 30th birthday celebration. We ordered 30 specialty cupcakes of a variety of flavors and a German chocolate cake. I must say this was the best tasting baked goods I have had in a long time. I love this place!
