This place reeks of overwhelming clove cigarettes and the TV and the stereo compete for loudest volume just bouncing off of every flat surface. Within five minutes I have a banging headache, my throat is closing up and I can’t stop coughing (I had to vomit in the parking lot). They’re very slow at fulfilling orders, even though no one else is here. Sadly, they don’t have curbside, so I didn’t get to put in my own order, even though I love pastrami in any form. I couldn’t leave fast enough.

Ordered 2 cod sandwiches to go. Bread was nice and toasty and the tartar had a nice heat to it. I was slightly disappointed in the potato haystack on top as I was expecting more of a fry consistency instead it was potato sticks, which again was tasty but not what I expected, the fish was nicely cooked and not soggy. The side of homemade potato chips were less than desirable but they were a side note anyway. Would Definitely try other sandwhiches.

If I could leave more stars, I would leave all the stars in the sky! If you have yet to try Def Louies Sandwich Shop in Steubenville, please do yourself this kindness and call to order! When I tell you the level of excellence in each bite is always utterly delicious, you must try for yourself! CALL AHEAD to place your order or door dash it because they are in high demand and the level of perfection Todd likes to provide his customers is a skilled art that takes time. And if you are a wing lover, TRY THE (best I ever had) WINGS!!

Best sandwiches ever! Todd takes great care in preparing every order. This isn't Subway or McDonald's, and the quality of the food shows. Ordered a Cluck Norris (chicken philly) and Gooey Louis (French dip) and both were amazing. Make sure you order ahead and get on the list. Excellent food takes time, and it is definitely worth it! A great change of pace from the every day food choices. And, Def Louie's is a locally owned and operated small business. Congrats on being successful in a tough area!

Truly truly an amazing place. Everything at def Louie's is worthy of acknowledgement and recognition. From the great location, the simple yet welcoming atmosphere, the kindness of the workers, the owner's great care for his customers, the quality of the ingredients, the amazing taste of the subs. I could go on and on. Def Louie's is the example of an incredibly well run small business that truly adds value to a town and local community. Steubenville is really a better place because of Def Louie's. The food is phenomenal, not only their subs though! They recently started selling their homemade chicken wings, and I must say they are hands down the best in the area. Who is from the area knows that there are very good Chicken Wing restaurants in the Ohio Valley. I am here to confidently say that Def Louie's beats them all. Go there and try them for yourself! Congratulations to Todd for his passion, his cooking talent and the care with which he runs his business, from the smallest details to the final quality of the products that he delivers to the customer. God bless Def Louie's and their staff!

Best Steak Hoagies Around! ?? Easily the best steak hoagie I’ve ever eaten. It’s the perfect combination of steak, melty cheese, green peppers and spices. Delish! You can tell that each hot sub is made with special attention. The house made chips and warm beer cheese (also made in-house!!) are fantastic! These are my favorite chips EVER!They have a large menu with a lot to choose from, homemade food and sauces topped off with incredible customer service and friendly employees. A great lunch or dinner stop!

What a rip off, the most overpriced sandwich shop in area. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Very friendly and accomodating! Our group order 5 different sandwiches for take out that came labeled so there was no guessing who got what. And everyone enjoyed thier meal! We'll be keeping this menu for future lunches. Only downfall is that I didn't meet Sir Louie himself!Parking: Hard to find the parking lot not being from the area. Not a deal breaker. Try it out!

Food is usually good, but they stop taking orders hours before closing and it’s hit or miss if they will let you order/answer the phone during regular times.Or you can put an order in, and it’s like a 2 hr wait time (literally lol) . Due to this, i think other local eateries can actually accommodate take out orders.Especially when you take time to get everyone’s order together, then go call it in during posted hours and are told you can’t order. It’s frustrating and we all agree we are done wasting time with this establishment.

I think that for the most part the sandwiches are excellent, unique and very fresh and tasty. But my main issue is at least 3 times they ran out of food hours before closing. Recently the doors were closed, no signs, nothing on the website, and no answer on the phone. You would think to plan on past sales and time and day your shop would plan accordingly and order the correct amount of sandwich meat and cheese to last until closing. Maybe get some professional advice how to plan to be more efficiently. Owning a business is no easy task, especially the food industry. Competition can make or break you. I live outside the steubenville area, and it is absolutely a treat to enjoy a delicious sub sandwich, My friends and family that I recommended to visit your place, tell me it is hit or miss getting food at any particular day and decided that when hunger strikes, you want a reliable place to enjoy a great food experience. Unfortunately 3 strikes your out, honestly I wanted your place to be the go to place for me, family and friends. I wish you great success, but you failed to deliver.

Great food and excellent customer service.Parking: You will approach the restaurant from the back, hence the examples in the attached pictures. When you get to the sides or the front of the restaurant, you'll see the parking lot. There are plenty of regular and handicap parking spots. A wheelchair ramp is positioned directly by the handicap parking, and continues up on the porch.Wheelchair accessibility: There are plenty of handicap parking spots in the front of the restaurant, where it actually says "Bob Evans". There also is a wheelchair ramp entrance positioned directly by the front of those handicap parking spaces. If I remember correctly, there was also an entrance to the ramp on the left side (when facing the front of the restaurant). However, the ramp did look like it went the length of the Front of the building.
