El Tipico is a five star experience, definitely not average and exceedingly exceeds expectations. The ambience made me feel like I was in Mexico, the server was attentive, the food was served timely, fresh, hot and tastey. As an out-of-towner from Columbus visiting Toledo, I definitely will be visiting this restaurant again.

I moved to Toledo from Texas last year and I am astounded at the quantity of really amazing Mexican food in this city. Not just "good for the Midwest." I was born and raised in Texas. I lived there for almost 4p years. I know real legit Mexican food abd El Tipico is it! Every time we have guests frim out of town, we take them here. The pork tamales and the mole are literally the best I've ever had in my life. The carnitas and the carne asada are so moist and flavorful. And the owner always stops by our table to give us the warmest welcome. I cannot recommend this place enough!Dietary restrictions: There are gluten-free, organic and vegan options

My parents used to go here all the time before the pandemic. I never went with them, but my husband and I decided to try it tonight. Legitimately the BEST TAMALES I’ve had in the Midwest! The staff were super friendly and personable. We will definitely be coming back!

I've got say El Tipico is hands down the best Mexican food in the Toledo amazing it's taste the same as it did in the 70s I got the beef tip wet burrito and cheese enchiladas and pork tamales it was all perfect. Keep up the good work ❤️
This place serves the best Mexican food in town bar none. Their tamales are huge and excellent. I had chicken fajitas and the chicken and vegetables were fabulous. They use as much organic ingredients as possible. They actually have a vegan menu. There servings are quite large. Their sauces and chips are home made. This place is fantastic. I wish they could be open more than 3 days a weekParking: Parking is behind the restaurant ans safe

The food was just okay. I've had better. The flavors weren't bright or full of taste. The picante sauce was a little little better. I felt the food was overpriced. My burritos were made using regular size corn tortillas, not larger flour tortillas.
