They have breakfast and lunch as well! I just had their beef veggie soup and it was to die for- a must try. They are also one of the only cats in town with an egg salad sandwich. My sandwich and soup were under $8.

My review is solely based on breakfast. We stayed at Captain Bell and received a gift certificate for breakfast. It’s a cute and quaint home, loved the atmosphere and we were able to get seated quickly. Service was great and drinks, coffee and food came quick. Coffee was constantly refilled which I truly appreciate that from an avid coffee drinker. Would recommend when in town and looking for a good breakfast.

Love the ambiance and they have a good selection of ice cream. Aside from that, my 2 yr son and I were met with two women who seemed nothing short of irritated. After she told my son to keep his hands off the glass, my decision was made to never return. While I understand social etiquette, he’s a 2 yr old boy who doesn’t know any better and was excited about getting a cone. I hope your days get better.

This was a spur of the moment pit stop on our road trip back home and it might become a tradition now! We absolutely loved it.Kid-friendliness: Our 10 month old was tired of being cooped up in the car and was not having the high chair. We set him on the floor to explore our table (we were in a corner, so this worked out) and no one seemed to mind one bit!

There is good news for this place!! It does get our award as having the worst service, least professional attitude and the most discourteous staff on location that we have ever encountered in our more than 30 years together!! They ruined our 30th Wedding Anniversary trip!! Unless you want your graduation, anniversary, birthday or other celebration ruined, you should not go here!! If we could we give this place a -100 rating, not just 1 out of 5!!!! We stopped by for lunch at approx. 11:50 today. We asked if we could sit outside, and the waitress curtly said she could not serve us outside, as she was the only one on duty. We had been shopping at local Vermilion shops, so we had a few bags, and we are both seniors with leg issues, so we needed to sit at a larger table than the very small two person tables, and we found a four-person table that opened up (with two people having sat there previously). After the Waitress took our order, the cook/manager came over and demanded that we go to one of the smaller two-person tables. We replied that we could not do that for the reasons noted above, but if it would help, we would be happy to be served outside. The cook/manager shook her head and stalked away. Less than two minutes later, a table that could seat five opened up, so that the party that the cook/manager desired to seat could be seated. Both this party and another party that had arrived after we got there were served, and our order had not been delivered for more than 30 minutes after the waitress had taken it. When I asked the Waitress about this, she said that since we had not done what the cook/manager had demanded, she had not started it, and she was fine with us leaving, and we would not be charged for the lemonade and the water. I told her how unprofessional and discourteous their behavior had been, and that they would be getting a negative review. She shrugged as if she did not care. and we walked out. We are still shocked at how rude, discourteous, unprofessional and outright nasty these people were, How they remain in business with such an attitude is completely shocking to us, and completely in contrast with all the other business venues we visited during our stay in Vermilion!!!
