Tucked behind a strip shared with Mejers, Wendell's doesn't jump out at you. We went there on a Saturday when most restaurants were packed. We found ample free parking including several handicapped spaces. The rather narrow door made navigating my electric wheelchair difficult. Once inside we found a relaxed atmosphere with no wait for table. Our server was professional and friendly. The food took a while to get to our table, but it was outstanding. My salad great and the house dressing outstanding. My meatloaf was huge and the mashed potatoes were creamy. All the others at our table enjoyed their meals. With just a little quicker service, Wendell's could be elite. Nice experience.

This family-owned restaurant is tucked away, and we wouldn't have found it were it not for a coupon in the Westerville Town Money Saver. At the entrance, you can either sit at the room with the bar or in a quieter adjacent room. We chose the quieter room where we were the only ones there. I ordered the fish and chips (I had sweet potato fries) and was served a huge portion of battered Atlantic cod along with a side of coleslaw and house-made tartar sauce. It was tasty and I was glad to see the meal was hot. My husband had the prime rib with Idaho mashed potatoes and asparagus. He said it was prepared well. We took a slice of apple pie topped with pecans to go. It was DELICIOUS! Now, the place can get noisy, and I was so glad we were in the adjacent room. I don't know what was on the TV, but we heard a lot of whooping and hollering from the bar. Finally, I feel the prices are too high. Hubby's beer was $8.25, and the slice of pie was $7.00. After our coupon, our bill was over $60.00.

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have at least three stars on Yelp. The food and service are pretty good at Wendell's. I've been here a couple times over the past few weeks and was pleasantly surprised at how much I like it. The wings are incredible and the service has been quick to serve and friendly. I would say, if you have been here before or haven't been here recently, give this local dinner a try. They have plenty of great tasting selections to choose from.

Ordered delivery through Grubhub. The entree included a baked potato and 2 side dishes. I chose fresh vegetables for 1 of my sides. Order was received timely, however, no baked potato and frozen lima beans that were still hard rather then fresh vegetables. I called Wendell's and explained the problem with my order. The person answering the phone asked if I wished to speak to the manager and I said yes. He got back on the phone and told me that the manager said I had to call Grubhub. The manager would not talk to me! I responded that this has nothing to do with Grubhub as Wendell's puts the food in the bag and makes the food NOT Grubhub. Still no go with the manager!!! When I said that I will never go to their restaurant again nobody cared. No big deal to them. NEVER NEVER NEVER again will I go to this restaurant! The food has never been all that great, and the service has always sucked. Heed my warning and avoid this place there is nothing good about it - neither the food nor the attitude of management.

We have noticed this year the food and service has been consistently very good. The walleye is excellent. Best onion rings around. We had a bad meal there last year during covid, so I am glad we gave it another try. Over the last several months, eaten there 6 times, all positive.
