I am here right now for the first time and I’m wondering where my waitress is… literally the entire time we constantly have to wave to get attention for service. Have been without a drink for a good ten minutes now and they are not busy… only reason for the 2 stars is the pork is good. If you want a better experience and food go to los terrazza right up the street by the old hotel way better you’ll thank me

Grabbed a little bit of everything for a large group and everyone raved. Very afforable, friendly staff and cute atmosphere.Vegetarian options: Bean and cheese versions of Mexican classics.

Dined there Saturday and Sunday night. Both servers were excellent, and they seated a table of 8 just before closing time. We all enjoyed our food and drinks, and appreciated the staff staying late for us to finish our dinner.Parking: Spacious

Calaveras is always our goto Mexican restaurant. Usually we order the family portion fajitas for takeout. We have a family of 5 and this meal will last is for days! You cannot go wrong eating in or taking out!

My husband ordered a tall beer which was served in a frosted mug. As we were munching on chips and salsa, he lifted the mug to take a sip, and the bottom fell out, splashing beer all over our laps, the table, the booth seat, my purse, our shoes, and the floor. We immediately asked for towels to clean up the mess, which we did ourselves. Luckily, we live close by, so my husband went home to change clothes because he was soaked. We changed tables (there were 4 in our party), ordered, and my husband returned in time to eat his meal. Meanwhile, staff seated another party at the table we vacated, without cleaning the beer-soaked floor. The owner finally came to our table and chuckled that this wasn't the first time a mug had been defective. However, he offered us nothing to compensate for the complete disruption of our meal. Not my husband's meal being comped, not a free dessert, not a discount coupon for our next visit, nothing! He acted like it was a grand gesture not to charge us for the original beer! We said we would think twice about returning to this restaurant. He said "Good, I don't want customers like you anyway." Unfathomable rudeness.

This restaurant has a bar and ample dining area. The menu is pretty large, but the food is inconsistent. I would say 50% of the time it is decent, but the chicken is often tough and the dishes lack any interesting spice besides salt. The service is also inconsistent, often provided by moody teenagers. Much better choices for Mexican food in the Youngstown area.
Great food! Love the chips and salsa. Great service and no long wait. Nice Ambiance.

I’m a big fan of Mexican food, absolutely love it. I was told that Calaveras Mexican Bar & grill was a place that would not disappoint. So I had to stop out and give it a try. The parking lot was nice a spacious, no issues with the parking. My seating options were tables, booths or bar stools, I chose a table. My server was very pleasant & friendly, got my drink & dinner order quick & correctly. The My food was out pretty quick, hot & was delicious. I also enjoyed the atmosphere, calm and relaxing. They had a large & proper bar. Lots of televisions, I know I would enjoy watching a sporting event here with a beverage from the bar. Overall I had a great dining experience, no complaints. I will definitely be dining here again soon.
As a pateon from day 1 I can say the service, meals, drinks and atmosphere have always been top notch. Prompt, made to order meals have the authentic flare and the drinks are very generous and resonably priced. The owner and his family are always on the premises and are attentive to your needs. A great, affordable establishment!
