First, when I got there, I saw their winter hours were posted on their chalk board were 10:30 Sunday to 4. I thought they opened at 10. So, I stood there 30 minutes waiting. When I finally got in and ordered, I wanted a loaf of rye bread and half a dozen bagels. The clerk said they don't have that and for the bagels, I would be charged for 6 individual bagels with cream cheese. It says on the website they have those items for purchase. To think I waited a half hour to find that out. I even voiced this to the clerk and did not get so much as a apology; only a blank stare back at me. The worst part about this experience for me? An hour wasted driving back and forth and waiting a half hour to find this out? No. The fact I didn't get an apology? No. The worst part was these items were going to part of someone's gift who specifically wanted them. Despite all my planning to coordinate the purchase on the basis of freshness, it utterly blew up in my face. I was under the impression all week, I thought, that I'd be able to purchase those items there without issue. I will not be back because the service like the kind I received today upsets me to no end!

Beautiful views from the dining room. While our chicken wraps were a good size, they were overly saturated with teriyaki sauce and Mediterranean sauce. For the $13 price for each meal we felt the Cole slaw side was a very tiny portion (a small dressing container full) we didn't even eat it aside from one bite, it was overly dressed in whatever was used and didn't taste good. Our $43 lunch we felt was not worth the price, we'll be back to the Nature Center to enjoy the views and trails, but we're not going to the café again.

First time I've posted a review, but after reading several negative comments, decided to do so. My sisters & I were there yesterday and were not disappointed. The food was good, the service excellent and the setting beautiful. Highly recommend.

Located in Mill Creek Metro Park’s flower garden, the Garden Cafe lacks proper service, acceptable portion sizes, friendly service, and eco-friendly dinnerware. My party of four expected to enjoy a delightful lunch overlooking the beautiful park however, our experience was a disappointment. First off let me say the view is the only positive attribute of this cafe. There is partial table service. You need to order inside and the food is brought to your table. All food is served on paper and utensils are plastic, not very eco-friendly. Prices would be reasonable if portion sizes were equivalent to other restaurants. Instead, sizes are comparable to tapas plates. To top of our experience the service was subpar and staff was unfriendly. I will not be returning to the Garden Cafe when I return to Youngstown, nor will I recommend this establishment to family or friends.

The food was good as usual... however for the cost of the Ruben sandwich i should not leave hungry. This has happened both times I came to this location. I have never had the issue at the Belmont location but I always order the biggest option. That isn't even available here. I understand stuff has been getting more expensive but I can't keep stopping if I have to go somewhere else after.

I've been there 3 times in the last few months. Consistently mediocre and overpriced. The service is not great and the menu is vague. And god forbid you ask about toast with the omelette The girl who seems to be in charge each time I'm there relishes in listing all the things that the customer CANT HAVE that day and has zero communication skills. It's a shame too because the cafe itself is just beautiful. Get some fresh management in there and start making fresh simple food at a reasonable price and I may try again. Until then I'll skip it and just enjoy the gardens.

I don’t normally write reviews, and the food was good. But, it seems a bit too laxed here. The one worker was on her phone making a personal phone call for over 30 minutes. And was on the phone even when bringing our drinks to us. The other worker there had headphones in and sat at one of the tables sitting on his phone most of the time. What looked like the manager was really great and she was very nice and accommodating. But overall. I feel as if this place is going a bit down hill. I have come here for a very long time, since it opened. And I used to come here when it was owned by another company. I feel badly. But I worry about what’s going to happen for the future if they don’t work on their staffing and what’s appropriate for the work environment.

The food was good as was the service, however, we had asked for water with lemon and mustard for our sandwiches and received neither.

Very expensive for a small sandwich and potato salad was a sample size container, it was literally 2 bites. Not worth the money, plenty of of other deli sandwiches around town that are bigger, better tasting and less expensive.

Amazing view over lake glacier - go there in the fall it's so pretty. Food was fresh and everyone very friendly! It's a great place for brunch on a Sunday.

Very beautiful atmosphere, very rude management. Sad to see an establishment I’ve loved for years come to this.

We were faithful attenders of the Sunday breakfast at the Garden Cafe. With the new ownership at Kravitz, though, we had our first bad experience.Prices went up on the menu. I understand prices are going up everywhere, though, so I can give some grace here. However, they're no longer waiting on the tables - the restaurant is designed so that you are given a menu, and have to go up to a kiosk to order everything at once. You even have to order coffee with your meal, meaning that you can't sip on coffee or water while you browse the menu. You think prices would go down if they're not paying waiters - but they went up.We went up to the kiosk and ordered the coffee separately, and the waiter literally dropped the coffee onto our table without warmth or hospitality.By the time we were ready to order, they were out of onions. On Sunday morning brunch, out of onions. Hard to believe! We decided to cut our losses and go somewhere else for breakfast. We informed the cashier that we were leaving, and instead of questioning or care, we felt she was upset and mad at us.I hope things turn around at the Garden Cafe - we loved coming here and hope we can come again one day. But we won't be coming back if the service / ordering system stays as it is now.
