We ordered dinner to go, and the food was absolutely delicious and seasoned perfectly! I had the fried chicken and my husband had fried catfish, and both dinners were wonderful. The sides of collard greens, Mac and cheese, candied yams, green beans and cornbread were all delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant for delicious soul food! Started off really good, but since then some really bad fall off on orders I made. The menu States half a chicken last time I ordered it was not half a chicken a small wing a small thigh breast add something else that appeared to be a wing not sure what it was. It was deep fried too hard baked macaroni and cheese is not like what I'm used to first time I got the collard greens they were fantastic the next couple of times way too much salt in fact they are a little heavy-handed with the salt believe me this is constructive criticism I would like to see them be successful. So far the best thing on the menu has been either the fish and the German chocolate cake that is rather high but it is good

First eating here I got the haddock fried and yams and Mac was good. And I was Impress about the macaroni and cheese, because I don’t eat peoples macaroni and cheese. Only if we have a cookout with my family but it was banging it was good and the yams was awesome.

First time going and wanted to try it out. Food was not seasoned. Very disappointed.Got home I had to put salt, pepper, garlic salt, hot sauce to have some taste. I ordered a 2 piece fried chicken (it was over cooked) Mac and cheese (no season), fried chicken sandwich, over fried (hard to bit into) fries were ok. Hamburger - (son ate it, he eats anything) Only thing I liked was the CORNBEARD 10/10 the only thing I ate. Paid $30 for this meal. Not impressed.The woman at the counter, she was great. Took our order told us it would be 15-20 minutes. I was ok with that, it only took 15 minutes. The area where we sat at was nice and clean. Loved the atmosphere.

The food is very good and prepared professionally and hot. The customer service is fantastic. Great atmosphere at Savannah Joe's. The waiters and owner is very nice and cordial. I recommend Savanah Joe's to everybody. The wings and fish are outstanding, and the gumbo.
A solid 4.5 rating really. Staff was excellent and accommodating for my party of 5 that showed up out of the blue. Even though it was order at the counter/eat at the table we were very, very impressed with how well we were treated by most of the staff and the quality of our food, albeit from a regional standpoint.Some things flavor wise were off for us. But everyone in my party was from a different state, Michigan, and were use to a different style of some of the sides.That being said, the food was almost totally on point. Outta 5 of us, only one wasn't impressed, he had the dark fried chicken dinner and 3 of the sides we all shared amongst ourselves were off for us.(We'd never had black eyed peas with turkey before. It was ALWAYS pork back home.) The greens needed something but were still good and the cornbread was sweeter that what was expected BUT good as well! Our server putting up with us made it worth while.Looking forward to taking friends there next time for their take.

I parked my car and went to order. I was greeted by this amazing person. Great customer service!I wasnt sure what sides I wanted to get but I know I want ribs. The person I place my oder with guided me through the items in terms of the sides. I got the mac and cheese, the mashed potatoes with gravy, collard greens, a slice of red velvet and a Kool aid. They convinced me to mix the Kool aid with the lemonade. It was the best decision I ever made!I started off with red velvet cake. Oh it was everything! The cake is soft, the cream cheese frosting had the right amount of sweetness. The crunch from the walnuts were the perfect touch. This dessert covers all the basics. Sweetness, crunch, and texture!The baker at this place is amazing!The Kool aid mixed with the lemonade was so delicious! It's the Kool aid you remember but now that you are an adult you realize what was missing was the citrus flavor. Lemonade. Simple. Refreshing.Ok I gotta go finish my meal I'll update soon.By the way, the mac and cheese was next and that is what lead me to write this review. This restaurant is amazing!

I got an 8 piece fried, Mac n cheese, greens, corn bread, and banana pudding. Everything was hot and fresh I went around 2pm. Waited 15 mins not bad at all and it was all correct and delicious. I definitely will go back.

One of the best meals I've had locally in a long time. Great to finally see some good authentic southern cooking in Youngstown. The sauce that was served with the fried green tomatoes should be bottled and sold in grocery stores. Thanks for the great dining experience.
