I've worked here for 6+ months, I like it and if you want to make money and hours every week, schwebels is where its at.

Rueben rye has been good forever. It is so small over the last year, we can't use it anymore in our restaurants. No one wants to buy a 13$ sandwich that is only 5 bites. You've lost business

I called Schwebel about their deli Italian bread no one followed up with me . I had a question about the thickness of the bread it was always thick sliced bread which is on the packaging , the operator told me someone would get back to me no one ever did called 3 times just wanted to know why bread was cut sooo thin no answer . when I’m in western PA. I buy it religiously but I’m having second thoughts . Wasn’t looking for anything from them just a reason whyThank youJim DeGore

What happened to the loaves of bread? They are like half the size they were.

i used to be a Natures Own customer. Then about 7 years ago I gave Schwebel's Sweet Harvest Wheat a try. Not only was it more affordable but it kept its freshness longer & just plain tasted better.I then tried the Jewish Rye. I make a grilled cheese sandwich with the Jewish Rye, butter, baby swiss & chopped green chilies. Its delicious. The toasted rye flavor really pulls the sandwich together.I've been having Walmart deliver my groceries lately. But I gotta say, if I had been there in person, I would have passed on the S.H. Wheat in favor of Natures own no matter the price difference. The loaves look small & unappealing. The last time I bought it, a couple weeks ago it just looked short by about 6,7 slices. The purchase I made yesterday, the loaves looked as though they had been pushed down in the pan with less dough. For instance a slice of cheese hangs out of the sandwich by about a 1/2 inch! the bread used to cover the entire slice. I get 4-5 less sandwich's per loaf now. That's a days less sandwich's for my working self & my 3 school aged kids. The Jewish Rye is literally flavorless. I had a couple slices with butter. I thought it didn't taste right. Then it hit me, it tasted like WATER. Yes, water. Its all but flavorless. Is it time to find a new bakery? As of now, shorting me my wheat bread, tasteless rye & jacking up the price.....I think so. If you're gonna rip us off, the least you can do is make it taste good.

Five stars because of the smell, but I should put one star, because I've been tempted for years with the smell of that bread and I've never gotten to go inside is LOL just kidding but man that stuff smells good

This bread is 13 months old. Hasn’t aged a day. That is quite frightening. For those that complain that their bread goes moldy too fast, it should! For it to hold shape, texture and color for over a year is disgusting. Quality and health are out the door in this country. So sad.
