Restaurantji's Durant guide: Where to find the best Mexican flavors.
“HUGE portion for fajitas! My friend and I got fajitas for one and could have fed two more people (we double checked to make sure they hadn't given us the bigger portion by mistake). Our Aloha fajitas had crispy strips of yummy bacon and LOTS of pineapple instead of just a few chunks like some other places. Those we absolutely delicious, and we also loved the white cheese dip!“
“What an awesome gem hidden in the depths of Durant. This restaurant could easily use the title "Authentic Mexican Food" and no one could dispute it. It takes an honest level of authenticity to do so and they really own it. I was blown away with the Lengua tacos. I will say that my supreme burrito, although it was big and tasty, had just a tad more beans and rice ratio to the pastor's meat. No big deal, the reasonable prices justified the ratio difference I guess. I would prefer to pay 1.5 or 2 dollars more but have a bit more meat ratio difference from the rice and beansThe salsas were amazing especially the green salsa. The bathrooms were acceptably clean. The walkway feels dark and being the only bathroom Unisex makes it a challenge for the female customers because Male customers pee all over the toilet seat. The dining room ceiling needs some attention. The entire decoration around the walls, the tables, the floors look great but the ceilings are killing the atmosphere. The service was great. There is no waitress service; which is fine. There was a guy going around cleaning tables and removing empty plates, that was good.Thank you for the great experience tasting your food! Sure to be back!“
“Waitress was nice, refilled glasses without us even having to ask and even recommended a dish to my son. Food was fresh and sizzling when it arrived. The chicken ranchero.. the herbs and seasonings on my chicken was SO good! The refried beans were a little bland but the rest of the meal made up for it.“
“I had the Pollo Vallarta. Super tasty, nicely seasoned, and vegetables cooked to perfection. The salsa could use some improvement, but my waiter brought me the the house salsa, it was spicy and full of flavor. The decor is cute too,I really liked my table I sat at.“
“We tried this Mexican cafe one evening and we really liked the white queso. Littlest Flip Out, in particular, absolutely loved it. I tried their Speedy Gonzalez dinner, which was fajita chicken and rice covered in yellow queso. I wish I had thought to substitute the yellow queso with the white queso. Mrs. Flip Out had the street tacos and they were good. The Littles enjoyed their tacos. Our waitress was the only server the night we were there and she did an excellent job staying on top of making sure we and everyone else had what we needed. Don’t forget to check out the world’s largest peanut monument down the street if you stop in at Salvador Cocina.“
“Mmmm, so good! My absolute favorite "Authentic " Mexican food. Hands down the best Fajitas! They were large enough for 2 to 3 people, but we ordered our own so we could have leftovers. There's a slight wait sometimes, but they move quick and it os so worth the wait.“
